  • Which version of the game do you own - the Minecraft launcher version, the Microsoft Store version, the Steam version, or some other version?
  • If you have the Minecraft launcher version, then are you using the old launcher (for Windows 7 and 8) or the new launcher?
  • If you have the Microsoft Store version, then are you logged into the game with the same account as the Store?

  • If you are on PS4, then is your Microsoft account linked to the game?
Moderator Note

Please note that currently, an internet connection is required to start the game.

The moderator team is also aware of an issue regarding family play users receiving this issue.

If neither point applies to you, please ensure that, if you are using a Gamepass subscription that the subscription is up-to-date and that you are using the correct Microsoft Account on your device, please also ensure the correct account is used if you are not playing the game via Gamepass.

Please, as always, keep the comments productive - only leave a comment if you think you have information that could help to solve the issue.

I'm starting the game via Gamepass and as soon as the titlescreen comes, I must press a button and then a window pops up and tells me the game can't verify if I do own the game on my Xbox account or not, and that I must connect to internet, which I am.

I linked a screencapture that's written in french, because my account's on a french computer.

Slightly different error to MCD-1035, still under investigation according to @MojangStatus

[Mod] Greymagic27 - 2020-05-27 14:48

This should be resolved now: http://twitter.com/MojangStatus/status/1265453866281287681 however many people are still getting the issue.

Magdalena - 2020-05-27 15:23

i have the same problem, even tho i purchased the game, the Launcher still says that i should buy the game, some help here?

Loeiz Legrand - 2020-05-27 15:45

I indeed checked out twitter and saw Mojang Status posting a tweet about the issue bieng solved, but I must belong to the ones that are still not able to play.

On Windows Xbox Gamepass, the game is installed, I can launch it, but it still says that it can't verify that I do own the game, and with the MCD Launcher, it demands me to buy it, so I'm going to wait no problem, hopefully I have feedbacks of people still getting the same issue as I got.

Gina Dunn - 2020-05-27 15:47

also still not working for my family account at all. Only the acount owner can log into the game. minecraft normal works fine just not dungeons

Magi1053 - 2020-05-27 16:05

I am having the same issue with game pass for pc

Daniel - 2020-05-27 16:08

On twitter they said that the problem has been solved, but I am still having the same issue on my pc.

Tim Collins - 2020-05-27 16:12

Same thing has happened to me on PC. Mojang tweeted that they fixed it but some people are still blocked and other's characters have been removed/deleted.

Rodrigo Moreira Ribeiro - 2020-05-27 17:22

Same thing here, can only use my family's main account, and it still doesn't work all times. If i manage to start the game in my family's main account, and then in-game change to another account, I can even create a character, but i'm not able to go online and offline play has an infinite loading screen.

Sid - 2020-05-27 17:51

I'm still experiencing the same issue.

Sid - 2020-05-27 17:57

If I fool with it I can get the main account to play the game but Family Sharing still does not let my son play.

Lane McDowell - 2020-05-27 18:32

I'm having the same issue with my wife. She can play sea of thieves and age of empires but not mcd. Do we know whats going on with this?

We are on PC

Lane McDowell - 2020-05-28 04:29

Is mojang working on this at all?

Rodrigo Moreira Ribeiro - 2020-05-28 05:20

we have no idea

Sonia - 2020-05-28 22:53

I've also been experiencing this issue since launch. I have Gamepass and family share. Could we have an update on this issue please?

Doug N - 2020-05-28 23:58

Still not working, Single m$ account not a family issue for me.
fyi 100's of people complaining about this since launch on twitter... in case yall didint notice.

Doug N - 2020-05-29 03:55

Interesting, Im signed into the store and the xbox beta app with AccountA(gamepassaccount) but signed into windows 10 settings UWP area with AccountB a diff account

That was it, diff account on users xbox app and windows not that that mattered, fixed

Andy E - 2020-05-29 06:18

A data point to confirm that with Xbox Game Pass for PC, the only way I have found to succeed at the ownership check is to use the account that is signed up for XGP.

The problem appears to be related to "signing in" at the Microsoft login screen within Minecraft Dungeons - if the Microsoft account you use at the in-game login screen does not match the exact Microsoft account with the XGP subscription, the game cannot be played.

To put this problem into context - consider the thousands of XGP subscribers with separate Microsoft accounts for Store/XGP vs. Xbox Live, or for family sharing / shared PC environments where kids have their own Xbox Live accounts to track achievements but the PC is licensed for Xbox Game Pass under one parent Microsoft account.

To be clear, no other XGP game works this way, only MCD.

Thank you for consolidating and reopening this bug!

Joshua Martin - 2020-05-29 10:25

Same issue here. I can play all other games on gamepass but not MCD.

Sonia - 2020-05-29 14:42

Can confirm I also have a different email on the microsoft store than the xbox app, which I cannot change due to family sharing. Haven't had any issues playing other games from gamepass on PC (I have played many different ones).

Mark - 2020-05-29 18:25

Hi There, I am having the same issue with verifying game ownership. I have windows 10 PC, all signed in with my account and my Game Pass account. All accounts including gamepass and xbox are the same. I this message with my account and my sons on the same PC, same login. I have got to select offline a couple of times, start the game and no further, it gets stuck on the load screen. Turn it off and on again and can't verify game.

Appeciate you are busy. Thanks.

Andy Herman - 2020-05-29 19:47

Same issue as people above. I'm trying to run on Windows 10. I checked to ensure that my machine is updated. My Windows account, store account, and gamepass account are all logged into the same (and correct) account. Purchased this game 2 days ago and still have not been able to log in..

suhyeokcho - 2020-05-30 14:22

same issue. Same account (Xbox and microsoft) Using xbox game pass. Wifi is fine tried hotspot and other different internet connection. tried disabling the firewall. Reinstalled game more than 10 times and this game is STILL NOT WORKING

Lucas Wanrooy - 2020-05-30 17:50

I'm having this issue, but I'm not using the game pass, I bought the game separately. My internet connection is working, and I've followed steps to try fixing it to no avail.

EDIT: I ran the game as administrator and it started normally

Plowden - 2020-05-30 18:10

Hello, I just encountered this problem. I have only one microsoft account, I don't have any family mode. I am the only person that uses this account. I have a game pass and a minecraft dungeons game purchased. I log in to the appropriate account but the problem persists. I have internet connection. None of the recommended solutions to the problem helped. At this point I truly dont think the problem is the problem lies with us (players). We are not idiots, we can see when we don;t have internet connection, and we will notice when we log in into different account we should. Please propose less obvious solutions. Best regards.

Melanie Jane Graham - 2020-05-31 05:42

I purchased this game as a gift for my sons, not the gamepass. It is working perfectly one one computer and the second gift purchased I ran into "Game Ownership Not Established" issue.  We have made sure that we are logging into the right account but the problem is still there.

michelle lee - 2020-06-01 03:06

This comment will not be productive in terms of helping solve the issue.  However, I find it amazing that this was not anticipated.  Perhaps you need to consult with people who use Microsoft/Minecraft/Xbox in other ways.  Lots of people have multiple accounts for different platforms.  Lots of people have children and therefore we pay for and download games and xbox gamepass but our kids have their own accounts for playing.  That seems like it would be extremely common. This is really quite astounding.  Get it together Microsoft.

Joshua Martin - 2020-06-01 13:38

This is getting ridiculous. It's been 5 days and we still can't play the game. On top of that you guys haven't made any statement saying you are working on it. Worst game launch ever.

Frank - 2020-06-02 02:59

Also contacted Microsoft/Xbox support (case 1501920117) 5 days ago. They were unable to resolve and it was escalated. I haven't heard of a resolution. I can log into Dungeons with the account used to purchase on Microsoft Stores, but I am unable to log into Dungeons with other members of the family group. Message I get is

"Game ownership not established"

"Sorry, you don't appear to own minecraft Dungeons on this account. Make sure that you are signed in to the correct Xbox Live account and restart the game"

Michael - 2020-06-04 18:07

This is still happening. Family sharing is not working with gamepass ultimate.

Can we get some ETA or at least "we are dealing with this" ? @Greymagic27

Arham Alam - 2020-06-04 19:45

This is outrageous. None of the solutions apply to me i just magically dont own the game. I need help!!!

Arham Alam - 2020-06-04 19:47

I bought the Windows 7 and above edition. The launcher one. I've only played the game for one day and it's been almost 4 days i have not been able to. I regret my purchase

Arham Alam - 2020-06-05 08:05

Worked around a fix, use VPN. fixed my issue.

Michael - 2020-06-07 11:52

At this point I'm starting to think that this is never going to be fixed by asking Mojang and we should go directly and complain to Microsoft gamepass

Zachary Barre - 2020-06-08 12:21

The problem is still happening, can we know if mojang is working on a fix and if they are working on a fix, when will it be released?

Andy Herman - 2020-06-11 23:40

Still not fixed...

Manuel Minet - 2020-06-12 13:06

Same bug ... One week I bought the game ! Come on dev

David Karachiwala - 2020-06-14 02:45

This is ridiculous.  Is this considered a bug that will be addressed or not?  I have now attempted to get a refund on this software and because over 14 days has lapsed it is now ineligible.  We have not been able to play the game since original purchase.  The fact that isn't play across both Xbox and Windows with the same title in crazy.  The fact that family share cannot be used like it can in Minecraft is nuts.  This is a Microsoft product and should follow a consistent licensing model.  If you did not plan to support either of these then you should have been clear from day 0 that this was the case and it would have saved a lot of grief.

MINORITY_IGNORED_BY_MOJANG - 2020-06-15 01:13

Let's see how ignorant the devs are when we sue Mojang for avoiding complaints from many players who paid for an unplayable and nonrefundable scam.

beyond unacceptable, what a shame on those devs behind the company who knows about it but don't address it to the players who have to wake up every day and check the playability just to find out they'll have to wait longer.

I'll be glad if someone makes a petition to make our problems heard.

Manuel Minet - 2020-06-15 18:18

BOORINGGGGG xD

George - 2020-06-16 02:02

I purchased the game back on 31 May, along with the wife. We were going to play together. However, while she could log in on her computer, I could not on mine. I've been checking the forums every few days, and now two weeks have passed.

In the launcher I've tried the repair option. I've uninstalled, and reinstalled the launcher. I've tried the Beta version. I've deleted all traces of it in the AppData folder.

I noticed on my computer I'm unable to login into the Microsoft Store app, and I believe the two are related. I've tried all the directions on repairing it, resetting it, and even utilizing PowerShell commands. I've run the various troubleshooters. I've tried checking Windows Update, but nothing is in queue. Looking at the various troubleshooting guides, the only thing left was either resetting Windows (and hoping your data isn't deleted), or reinstalling Windows. The time and hassle of that is not worth it for one game. I'm going to request a refund.

David Karachiwala - 2020-06-16 11:07

Fix the family share already. 3 weeks FFS

Alessio - 2020-06-18 19:03

adam - 2020-06-24 20:14

still an issue with the newest update. guys this is really disgraceful.

Manuel Minet - 2020-06-24 21:02

Pfff ....

Zachary Barre - 2020-07-02 13:10

The issue has been fixed for me, thanks Mojang

Frank - 2020-07-02 20:46

Tried it on a family group account and seems to be working as well now.

Melanie Jane Graham - 2020-07-06 04:55

All fixed for me! Yay! Thank you.

Fruxz - 2020-07-28 18:16

Dear ladies and gentlemen of Mojang.

This error also occurs with me, but I have a STABLE and RELIABLE Internet connection. My XBOX-Game Pass for PC is still valid and all other games work fine. What I could imagine would be that Minecraft dungeons are now set to Teredo protocols. This would be a fatal mistake that would cause this problem for some people like me.

PS. My operating system and app are up to date, the firewall doesn't interfere with the required services and everything works except MC-Dungeons. So is an app problem

With faulty greetings

Fruxz

Shijia Zhang - 2020-11-19 15:47

I am still facing this issue on the latest version (1.6.0.0) purchased from Windows Store. I am also on the latest version of Windows 10 (20H2 19042.630).  Below is a screenshot of my network condition:

Jemma Hooper - 2020-12-26 22:13

When I applied an XBox GamePass Ultimate voucher code to my Microsoft Account, I was using a different account in the Windows 10 store. I was getting lots of problems with XBox gamepass complaining about my Xbox account being different from my store account. The only purchases I had made from Microsoft were using the account I registered GamePass with.

It took me a while to figure out that the issue was the Windows 10 Microsoft Store app account. I have since corrected the issue. HOWEVER...

I'm still getting the "Cannot verify ownership" issue when trying to log into Minecraft Dungeons. The XBox app has stopped it's whining. The Minecraft app is now the ONLY thing causing issues. Is there not some kind of account registration cache that can be cleared so accounts can be reverified correctly? Google has thrown back a LOT of results on this error, so I'm kind of gobsmacked that it hasn't been resolved by now.

I get that there's possibly some friction between Mojang's systems and Microsoft's systems, but that shouldn't be a problem for end users.

For the record - I also have a copy of the Java version on my computer (which I paid for) so that might be in the mix here? But surely that's been factored into efforts to resolve this issue?

Chris Wong - 2021-03-12 13:58

Are there any fixes? I'm still having this problem until today. Can't play the game. My laptop only has one account and I used that account to buy Minecraft Dungeons: Hero Edition. Played for months then one day it pops up the "Unable to Verify Game Ownership" dialog. When I clicked on the "Retry" button it signs me out and I have to sign in again. But after I signed in it show the "Unable to Verify Game Ownership" dialog again. My network has no problem.

Stephen Raghunath - 2021-03-12 18:39

I am running into the same that Chris described. I even tried reformatting and I still can’t “verify game ownership”

Jon - 2021-03-16 01:29

I hit this tonight, out of the blue been playing for months on windows store edition but tonight it started doing this, no matter what I seemed to do it wouldn't let me in, I even noticed that I couldn't get to the store page on my account via app or browser(when I was not logged in was ok?) it just said the page didn't exist! or there was an error with it.
Not sure if this fixed it but, I logged out of every Xbox-type app(console companion, game bar, etc..) I have installed back up my game saves and then was going to reinstall the game but instead, I thought id see if I had any issues with normal Minecraft, so I installed Minecraft Windows 10(didn't have it installed), loaded it up and it asked me to sign in twice? it then loaded, I joined a server and quit.
Checked the Dungeons store page on the app and it was now working! I hit play Dungeons loaded and it logged me in straight away! I don't have game pass so not an issue with that. I did read somewhere that it was thought to be a token issue so was thinking that maybe Minecraft install/login may have forced the refresh on it.
IDK, but hopefully this may help someone.

Not sure if related to my issue/resolve but I read a day or so later that Microsoft had server issues on the day this happened.

Chris Wong - 2021-03-16 21:16

Tried Jon's method. No luck. Here's what I did:
I downloaded all Xbox-related apps, signed in, and signed out. Uninstalled Minecraft Windows 10 Edition and Minecraft Dungeons. I reinstall Minecraft Windows 10 version and reinstall Minecraft Dungeon: Hero Edition (I go to Hero Edition's page and install from there and I wait for Minecraft Windows 10 to finish installing then I started to download MC Dungeon: Hero Edition).

I start Minecraft Windows 10 from MS Store. It asked me to sign in. I signed in with the MS account that I use to buy MC Dungeon: Hero Edition. I can access the skins that I purchased before. I joined a server and played their games a few rounds then I quit.

Now I start Minecraft Dungeons: Hero Edition from MS Store. It asked me to sign in so I did it. After that, the same message shows up... "Unable to Verify Game Ownership" like before. It was like the game didn't wait for (or detect) the logins then shows the message instantly...

Why such a small problem can't be fixed. I like this game so much. I wanna buy the new DLC...

Kęstutis - 2021-03-25 11:25

Hello,

I'm having same issue. I just bought Minecraft Dungeons for my kid directly from Microsoft Store with Microsoft account I've just created. Installed the game. Tried to sign in in the game (it asked to create name/avatar for XBOX live i guess). I did it. And then infamous "Unable to verify game ownership" appeared. I tried to press "Try Again" (it just sings me out) and re-login several times. Tried reboot. Even tried to reinstall the game. No luck either. Windows event viewer does not show any useful related information also.

Please help to resolve this issue

P.S. OS: Windows 10 N PRO, build 19041.804. x86_64
Minecraft Dungeons version 1.8.6.0

Kęstutis - 2021-04-01 17:08

Hello,

Maybe there's possibility to enable some kind of debug/verbose logging in game in order to get more details about this issue (what's going on)?

ZARA Bergstrom - 2021-04-01 22:27

I do not know what you mean by that

Kęstutis - 2021-04-02 07:56

Well, most software are capable to to enable debug/verbose logging mode in order to help user or a developer to understand where the issue persists. For example missing libraries, unreachable server, operating system bug, etc.. So I would be glad to use such logs in order to dig deep into it by myself as user or provide such data for game developers if this could help developers to solve the issue.

Chris Wong - 2021-04-02 08:15

For my game version is Minecraft Dungeons: Hero Edition. I bought the game from Windows Store. I only have the ownership verification fail problem on my laptop but not my dad's laptop. I signed in to my dad's laptop with the acc that I bought the game and I can play the game. But my previous saves gone So I think it is Windows' have some problem (maybe MS store's problem too)

Kęstutis - 2021-04-02 09:26

According to Chris Wong issue, i tried add another machine user account (the same one i bought the game from Windows Store) and install the game with it. Unfortunately this "hack" didn't help either.

Thanks Chris

Chris Wong - 2021-05-05 14:37

Updated to 1.8.8.0. They still haven't solved the problem.

Kęstutis - 2021-05-05 15:39

Actually I was able to bypass this issue. After some time I just tried to start game and try again without updating the software. And this time I had no issue with ownership. But instead after screen brightness and pressing Launch button game just goes into another issue: screen becomes black and only mouse cursor is visible on the screen and that's it. Only thing from system side is that GPU consumes 100% of resources (i'm using GTX 1060 6GB). I'll try to update and check if it helps.

Nathan Geffers - 2021-05-07 02:18

I've been playing the windows 10 version since launch. I've never seen this issue until today. Now it keeps popping up.

My internet connection is fine.

Ryan Lock - 2021-05-15 23:30

Oh my god, how is this still a problem a year after release? Sometimes it's just my wife's game. Sometimes it's just my account. The popup comes up like every few minutes when we're playing sometimes.

Jason - 2021-05-16 09:30

This has been happening every day for the past few weeks under 2 different accounts on 2 different computers. Internet is 100/40 and usually sits around 80-90mbps. It doesn't drop out and isn't the issue.

Playing via Xbox Game Pass (PC)

Larry Kolakowski - 2021-05-16 17:34

It looks like MCD-5811 is being used to track the issue where "Unable to verify game ownership" happens when a second Minecraft Dungeons is started on the same local network.  I was able to work-around the issue by starting a VPN service on one of the PCs.  This gives the PC running the VPN a different public IP address than other PC.  I was also able to work-around the issue by moving one PC from the local network to a mobile hotspot.

Prowl 8413 - 2021-05-17 01:20

This is unacceptable, for a game that I simply want to play with my kids, and stream for fun, that I can't even do that because of this account issue. To try and get around it, I have literally purchased the game 8 times between a switch, xbox, and 3 pc's.

I have a microsoft family account, full installation of the games with purchases, not gamepass. I have purchased the expansions. I have ensured that all PC's are only logged into the microsoft account for that individual person, and that the xbox account logged in matches. Nothing stops this from happening. It used to just be a problem with my PC every time a new expansion came out, that my Microsoft store would not register that I owned the game, and would take me forever, with uninstall and reinstall just to get the game to work... now this really takes the cake...

AMANDA SLAPE - 2021-05-17 19:24

Same issue. First I logged in after a month of not playing and it had completely erased my 147 lvl character. Now I can't even grind up again because I can't get through a full level without it kicking me out. Doing that 6 - 8 times in an hour is annoying so I eventually did everything I could think of. Updated windows store, Dungeon files, OS files, repaired files repeatedly, uninstalled, reinstalled on a different drive and it still doesn't work. Very frustrating after spending all that time playing just to have it erased then unplayable.

Chris Wong - 2021-05-17 20:02

Exactly same issue with Amanda. For MS Store version I think Mojang can't fix it. It's Microsoft/Xbox issues in the pc. Microsoft never pay attention on this unless Mojang staff deal with Microsoft/Xbox staff.

Brian Buskirk - 2021-05-20 20:32

Same thing here. My son and I have been playing on the same equipment for some time now, but starting this past week, we can no longer play together. We can sometimes start a multiplayer game, but in a few minutes, 1, the other, or both of us will get the unable to verify error. We have both spent money to buy this game for our 2 PC's including all the DLC's. This needs to be fixed.

Cagri SENKAL - 2021-05-22 09:13

Problem occurs when there are more than 1 MD instance running on the same local network

[MCQA] Bartłomiej Słodkowski - 2021-05-25 11:03

For anyone reporting issues with the "Unable to verify game ownership" message, please remember that we have a separate ticket for when this message appears in the middle of gameplay: MCD-5811

Chris Wong - 2021-06-23 19:58

I used my Microsoft account that bought Minecraft Dungeons from the MS Store on my laptop to start the game and I got the "Unable to Verify Game Ownership" error. But if I use the same account on another laptop that in same network and download Minecraft Dungeons MS Store version. The game can sign in normally but all my previous game data gone. Any fixes? I want to play the game on my laptop not others.

Chris Wong - 2021-07-25 20:31

I found a solution for MC Dungeons Microsoft Store version. I have the "Unable to verify ownership" problem before on same device and recently solved it with a try of a method that I didn't found it on Internet. Steps below:
1. First, I add a local user account (I made it Administrator, not sure if Standard User works) on my machine that not signed in with MS account (which can log in directly to desktop). Then, I sign into that local user account.
2. I open Microsoft Store and signed in with the Microsoft Account that I used to purchased Minecraft Dungeons. After signed in it will prompt you a window titled with "Use this account everywhere on your device" with buttons of "Next" and "Microsoft Apps only". I clicked on "Microsoft Apps only".
3. Then, I head over to Minecraft Dungeons page in the store and download the game (Of course it shows I owned this game as I already purchased before)
4. Before finish downloading I didn't do anything related to my MS account or xbox things I just leave it to download and start the game after download.
5. After done downloading, I start the game from Start menu.
6. After it finished the intro loading stuff, "Press any button to start" screen shows up. So I just pressed spacebar. Then, the game pop up a window which is the "Sign in with Xbox Live" with a "Next" button.
7. After I clicked on "Next" button, it directly signed me in and shows the "Welcome back, XXX (my name)" with a continue button.
8. After I clicked the continue button. It goes in and I can play the game now.

It actually worked for me on same device that have the "Unable to verify ownership" problem before. I just have thinking of maybe this method will work and it actually worked for me.
But all my previously game data has gone. I started play again with new character sad af.

Wayne Jackson - 2021-08-16 11:30

Tried launching the game, CTD each time. 1) CTD right after the game splash screen; 2) CTD upon "Pressing any Key to continue"; 3) same as the second.

Upon 4th launch met with error message "Unable to verify game ownership" and continually loops.  Uninstall and re-install has not fixed the problem this time.

Still happening...

Philip Foster - 2021-11-16 17:22

I purchased the game 13 days ago for my Window 10 computer on the microsoft store. It worked perfectly for 12 days and today this bug has suddenly started. I've tried reinstalling the game, disconnecting from the internet so my account needs to be reconnected etc. But the bug keeps occurring and the game has been rendered completely unplayable.

Dennis Weber - 2021-11-16 17:37

A fix for this issue should have been introduced just now. Is the issue still occurring?

Philip Foster - 2021-11-16 19:24

I can confirm that the bug is no longer occurring for myself. (Windows 10, Microsoft Store version)

Dennis Weber - 2021-11-16 19:31

Now it works without prroblems

Paul Dell'Orso - 2021-11-16 23:45

My apologies, It looks like it wasn't working last night and I got a lot frustrated, It is working this morning thanks!
Windows 10, Installed through XBOX app.

Timofey Kasatkin - 2021-12-02 15:00

I find a solution.

So if Microsoft Games can verify game ownership it means your windows user is corrupted.

Reinstall windows or make a new user.

This is why we don't use the Microsoft store folks. I will never trust Microsoft to have their things be fully operational, thank god this game is available on Steam.

Domonic J Flanders - 2022-05-16 14:56

I'm also having this issue when I tried to launch Minecraft launcher for Windows 10 this morning. I checked to make sure if I was logged into the same Microsoft account , and indeed i am, this is not through game pass. I bought Minecraft: Dungeons Ultimate addition.

SilentDeathGod - 2022-06-08 05:43

I've been having this issue for 2 years now. It plays just fine on my PlayStation consoles but refuses to work on my PC via Xbox Game Pass.

veryangrysheep - 2022-10-20 10:10

This is happening to me three days after buying the game, the first time I launched it worked perfectly but every time I've tried since then its been giving me the same error, I also tried contacting Minecraft and followed all the steps they suggested but to no avail, I brought the game through the Minecraft launcher, have only been trying to launch it through the official launcher and it's still giving me the error no matter what I do. I own the Minecraft dungeons ultimate version and on windows 11.

Ptituf - 2022-10-24 11:10

I add my experience too. Yesterday i bought minecraft dungeon ultimate on the microsoft store , downloaded 3 things : Minecraft launcher , minecraft dungeon , minecraft dungeon ultimate, first launch of the game , no problem + i can join my friend who bought yesterday too, but after leaving the game , when i try to launch it, i got this bug 10x , when i press continue or leaving that doesnt change , i cant play. Tried different things , like launching the game with Xbox app , microsoft store , minecraft launcher , double click on the .exe but nothing worked, excepted one time when i specify to launch "Minecraft dungeon ultimate" instead of minecraft dungeon on microsoft store, but since then it doesnt work anymore. So i restarted my computer , it worked but not fine to restart the computer everytime you want to launch the game the 2nd time on the day. And after leaving , again cant "verify game ownership blabla". Tested to log out , log in (on minecraft.net, launcher and microsoft), uninstall + reinstall. to repare all thing (minecraft launcher , minecraft dungeon , microsoft store). Its worked tought when i try to shut down microsoft store app and relaunch it , but dont know if its a random luck or not, because i couldnt test to join my friend he goes off. Because yes when i finally can log in and dont have this bug , i have another one the MCD-1238. Maybe its a bug sync because i played year ago when minecraft dungeon launch with the gamepass so the server thinks i dont have the game now because im not subscribe anymore. (loose my character/progress btw but its not a problem i wanted to go fresh). Hope all manipulations i did can help to solve this, also sorry for my no native english.

bigaure33x - 2023-01-09 20:07

Hello, I want to add something about this bug, if that can help to patch this issue. I have this bug that prevents me to play the game, and I noticed that I it doesn't show I bought the game on Microsoft order history. I bought Minecraft Dungeons and the Ultimate DLC bundle separately, the first in 2020 and the second in 2022, but none of them are showing. And I feel this is weird, because when I go on Xbox app, or Minecraft launcher, or Microsoft store, or Minecraft website, it shows that I own the game.

Silviastorms - 2023-02-16 17:14

Windows 11

Minecraft Version 1.17

bought through Microsoft store

Using Xbox app to launch

No family sharing

Occasionally will pop up saying unable to verify ownership. Sometimes sign out and into Xbox app fixes issue. Other times full system restart. Issue occurs even on first computer boot of the day.

This started two weeks ago when I bought just the dlcs and used game pass for the base game. About four days ago tried purchasing game separately. Then uninstalled and reinstalled it and issue continues to persist.
