I purchased the game a few days ago through Microsoft Store.  Today I finally was able to log in (Using same account as purchase) To be told that my xbox live account (why xbox?) wasnt registered as an owner.  Can you please advise?

Keeps saying the same for me, tried to log in multiple times as well as launch the game multiple ways but nothing seemed to work

maybe it has to do with the hero edition because the normal one released at 10:00 while hero edition releases at 11:00

So i bought the Hero Edition it was Kinda weird it put me in The Microsoft store i bought it there then but it tells me now when I start the Game that i dont have it

Hero Edition is still to be released on the store listing. May be the cause.

Don't think, it will help much, but here are my screenshots. Windows, Xbox, Dungeons, it all uses my same Microsoft Account as far as I can tell:

looks like they put a 400 am release for hero edition on Microsoft store; not sure if this will be live at 4:00 but unfortunate considering a handful of us got up at 300 am to play at launch

I signed out and back in to the xbox companion app and it seemed to fix it.

EDIT: Might not be correct after all. It suddenly works for my girlfriend as well and she didn't update anything. I guess the credits go to Mojang or someone at Microsoft.


Hey, I could fix it for myself.

I needed to update some things in the Microsoft store. Namely one or more of the following. The most liekely candidate would be Xbox Identity Provider.

I preordered the PC version as well and it still says, after logging in with the same information I bought it with, it says I have not bought/own the game.

The issue mentioned here was related to the Microsoft Store version of the game - we are tracking an issue for the launcher version of Dungeons at MCL-14106 - please add any further information there.

This issue is not resolved for me.  I can play the game fine on my desktop, which is the computer I used to purchase the game.  However, I also installed it on my laptop and am getting the ownership error there.  Also, can you please clarify whether family sharing works with this game?

UPDATE:  7 hours later, still not resolved.  I can sometimes play on my laptop, sometimes not.  But my family members cannot login anywhere.  PLEASE give us some clarification re: Family Sharing.  Even if you just say that it's supposed to work and you're working on it.  Many of us are in limbo trying to decide whether we need to buy another license for family members or not.

I am having this issue as well with game pass. I have tried signing in with both my microsoft store account as well as my xbox live account, and both have this same error message.

With Xbox Game Pass, getting same problem.

Problem appears to be related to "signing in" at the Microsoft login screen within Minecraft Dungeons - if the Microsoft account you use at the in-game login screen does not match the exact Microsoft account with the XGP subscription, the game cannot be played.

This is broken for the thousands of us with separate Microsoft accounts for Store/XGP vs. Xbox Live, or for family sharing / shared PC environments where kids have their own Xbox Live accounts to track achievements but the PC is licensed for Xbox Game Pass under one parent Microsoft account.

Please, PLEASE look into this!

I have this problem as well. I pre-ordered the Hero Edition. I downloaded the 2.79 GB during installation, authenticated with my Microsoft account (which uses MFA) successfully, but it gave the error above at the first screen after launching it. Also in the Microsoft Store, I browse to the "All owned" section of my library and nothing is listed, even though I've purchased/acquired many store-based programs. Could these two issues be related?

 

UPDATE: As of this time, about two hours later, was just able to play it, no longer having problems with "ownership" error. Thank you to whichever individuals worked on this. Your efforts are appreciated.

I am having the same issue.  I am also having an issue with which version fo the game I purchased.  I purchased the Hero Pass and I can only download Windows 10 Edition.  I do have the ability to update to the hero pass as the website tells me I should have the option to do.  I was able to play the game about 5 hours ago this afternoon but now I can not sign in on any of my PCs.  It claims here that this issue has been resolved but I am still having the issue so it has not been 100% fixed yet.

Um yeah its actually not fixed. I've been playing on my xbox but wanted to play on PC using game pass and such. It keeps saying my "Game Ownership Is not Established, as seen here: 

So, yeah. Still not fixed or it broke again.
