Generally takes about 30 seconds between pressing a key and the "Press Any Key" text coming back up on the screen for me. It just repeats this cycle indefinitely. I've hit a key over 15 times and it never loads past this splash screen.

i get the same problem after a short power outage and a reboot from the computer.
To fix this, i uninstalled the game from the launcher and new install it.
But then my charakter is resettet. 

This might be a technical issue, in which case we won't be able to help as we are not a support site.

If possible though, could you please include details about your system (RAM, CPU, GPU spec).
If you like you can run dxdiag and copy the relevant information from there. (Win+R → dxdiag) - be sure to remove any personal information, just the PC specs would be useful.

I am running the game on my MSI laptop. I only seem to have this issue at home where I have slower internet, though. I tried playing at my in-law's house and it ran fine there. So I've included the stats on our internet connections as well, in case it might be relevant to the issue.

It's been 4 and a half hours and Its still in the loading screen.. 

I'm not using the bata I'm using the the new release 

I have this problem on Switch after logging in on PC (purchased on both, same windows live account) and playing with friends.

I'm having the same issue. I've narrowed it down to being an online problem.

For me: turning on flight mode/ disconnecting wifi will let me go to the character select menu. And as long as I select a local only / offline game, I can play it fine. If I try to select Online Game from the character select screen it won't let me go any further. This usually freezes my options until I press X to change character.

Also, for me: this only started happening after my first play of the game when I managed to load the game normally (online) and link my Microsoft account.

Edit to add: I'm on version 1.1.0.0 on Nintendo Switch

I had commented the above yesterday on bug MCD-142. I've seen a few bugs being marked as duplicates and "resolved" but not much to actually fix them. 

I can't say if this will work for others but I've managed to solve this bug for me. I had to erase all of the game's user data including the server backups. Since doing that I've been able to load the game normally a few times, playing through a couple of missions including online co-op. I saved and closed the game between each mission to be sure that I could load the game each time, no problems so far.

I hope this can help others in someway.

On the switch I had this same problem as on the pc I don't but after deleting my saved data and re-linking my account its been solved ill try exiting the game and relaunching it to see if it still pops up

i have the game on xbox game pass(playing on pc), even if i go offline it doesnt work because it tells me to go online again and i reinstalled 20 times. 

pls someone help.

ive tried in starting from the launcher then from the xbox windows 10 app, installed and uninstalled 10 times, still no luck... ive asked for a refund and no one has got back to me...

Having just discovered this wasn't because I used a cloud save on another Switch console, I'm finding this issue to make the game 100% unplayable. I'm not going to restart the game every day. My daughter is super disappointed, too. 

Same problem for me on my Switch. Was playable for a couple days and now it won't load past that screen.  I've tried reinstalling the game but it doesn't help.

Still having this issue on the main account on our switch.  Other accounts can play the game but my account is stuck on a loading screen when I try to enter.  I've reinstalled the game and still doesn't work. I've read that deleting all the data will correct the problem, but will I have to delete all the data again a couple of days later?  Any fix to this?

Same issue. Can play offline, but when attempting to start game while NSW connected to internet, it stalls at this point. 

I play MCD on the Nintendo Switch and to experience this problem. It was caused after the game crashed due to an internet outage. For this reason, I am unable to play the game even after restarting the console, shutting it off for a while, reinstalling the software and checking for corrupted data. None of these methods worked and so I am hoping Mojang resolves this issue as soon as they can. Thank you!

According to someone on discord deleting their save data and their character fixed it.

I'm having the same issue on my switch as well, it played fine yesterday but now all of a sudden it won't load. I have tried deleting my saved data and the entire game off the switch and nothing is working for me.

I deleted save data and the game, and it still fails to go past the loading screen.

I play on the Nintendo Switch, and I'm having this issue as well. It was working fine up until yesterday. After the game prompts me to "Press Any Button", I get stuck in the screen with the red cube in the bottom-right corner for a couple minutes, before getting sent back to the "Press Any Button" screen. This occurs on an infinite loop. 

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, and changing WiFi networks. I tried booting up the game in airplane mode with WiFi turned off and this will let me load up my MCD account, but only in offline mode. I would rather not delete my save data just in order to play in online mode with friends.

Is there another fix to this to make the game play like normal?

Same issue for me! Gamer tag EzoftheFort. It just working fine earlier today...but now after press any button it just spins.

OMFG! Buy the game only for it to never load after the, "Press Any Button" splash screen. The game is entirely unplayable. Aren't issues like this the exact reason the game was put into Beta before release ?? What a waste of funds. Seems Mojang is following in other companies foot-steps and releasing incomplete titles, just to get a quick buck out of sheer hype for the new title. Going to have to jump on an other report log, as the game is very laggy, even on a BRAND-NEW SwitchLite purchased in anticipation for this game (with a .5TB SD installed so i have NO problems with memory or loading game, and yet, here we are). I have; uninstalled-reinstalled software, removed ALL accounts from the system and reinitialized a SINGLE one, tried closing the software and restarting. NOTHING WORKS, GAME IS UNPLAYABLE. I would like my funds back if this does not get resolved in a timely manner (i don't want to HAVE to wait 2wks for a fix)

Same issue for me... My friends are playing on thier Switch’s, yet I’ve been stuck on this screen for two days.  Have deleted and reinstalled, changed networks and reset the actual switch itself...  Feeling like I wasted $20.. ):

This is specifically related to the Microsoft account linking required by the game. this doesn't occur in PC Xbox Game pass (tested on my PC) -

The Nintendo Switch version i have is behaving the same as all of you. Disable wifi (airplane mode) or disconnect from the network. and launch the game and it's fine for offline game play. but if you're at the character screen after playing and select "online" it will prompt to login to the account, then stall. (after connecting back to wifi).

So from that test i did, i can only deduce that the root of the problem is the account sign-in of the MS account that was required at the beginning. After closing the game (back on my  network) and re-launching, it stalls in the load screen before character selection.

Yeah – the only problem with the online theory is that I'm having this load screen issue on my primary console but not on my secondary console (which has to be online to launch the game).  Turning off wifi does fix the issue on my primary, but it doesn't explain why I'm having the issue on one console and not the other.  For what it's worth I did not link any accounts on either console.  The only difference between them is that I played a local 2-player game on the primary (just prior to getting the load screen issue) but only played single player on the secondary.

Ok guys, a friend of mine was able to fix this issue. It may work for some of you (hopefully so). Here is what he did:

• Log in with airplane mode;
• Logout of his account
• Log in with internet connection on (normally)
• Log in again into his account.

Yeah, my character is usable again after opening the game while offline. I’m unable to sign in properly, (and clicking play online just makes all buttons but x not functional) but am able to once again play my character.

I can confirm that Victor's walkthrough does work for the Nintendo switch. as for other platforms that may be the solution (if possible)

I was able to play day one. I booted the game up yesterday and today and unable to get past the load screen. Extremely frustrated. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

hello guys I have the solution, they have to start the game without any internet connection (they can configure it in the microsoft store in settings) and once they start the game they wait a bit and connect to the internet and that's it

When I got back into my character on Switch, it had duplicated it not cloned it.  I had 6000+ gems on each and they had the same inventory.  When I deleted one of them and logged out, it deleted both when I logged back in.  I then had 0 characters, which I usually can't do because it doesn't let you delete the last one.

I tried Victor's method but now I can't log in with my microsoft account so I can't play online. 

i fixed it, my antivirus was not letting mc dungeons have access to internet, so i manually gave it through my antivirus program

I found the solution on the nintendo switch, i put it on airplane mode so i can enter the game, then turn off the airplane mode cause i was already on the game, so i closed my microsoft account. I closed and opened again the game, i linked again my microsoft account and thats it. I think it was because i changed the password of the account. So, i hope i've helped you

I'm using the pc launcher not through Microsoft.

Finally figured this out based on others comments. Unlinking the microsoft account and relinking it seemed to work (Nintendo Switch). It took me a long time to figure out that signing out of the microsoft account was in the settings > game > sign out. Hopefully that helps someone

Max M Is this a permanent solution and will you be able to play online?

Confirmed, this solution does appear to work.

1 - go into flight mode

2 - load the game

3 - settings > game > sign out

4 - turn off flight mode

5 - sign back into account

unsure if this will block my PC account which i believe is where the account got confused, but does allow me to get back online with my character on switch. 

For the issue that is affecting Nintendo Switch specifically, please refer to MCD-1293, and add a vote and any new information there.

well guys i have solved this issues i guess on nintendo switch. (worked)
like many of you i had the same issue stuck on loading screen. i ddid this step

1: open the game in airplane mode.
2: settings.
3: game.
4: configure online play.
5: sing out of your microsoft account.

this steps will solve the loading screen stuck. it wont work at the beginning i did like 2 time.

if you want to keep playing online you need to link your the game with another microsoft account.

seems like the issue is with the microsoft account you already have.

hope it works for you guys , because it worked for me, had like 4 days without playing.

Computer; using windows 10 pro, 64-bit - Preordered the game via minecraft.net - Been having the issue always since launch, so every day since then. I've never had the pleasure getting through the squared red box. The timezone however is GMT+2 (Copenhagen, Denmark).

I use a windows 7 x64 computer my game remains stuck on the luncher I click on play and the button goes dark and nothing

I am on switch but this issue happened to me

My son is on Xbox and this is what is happening to him.

We are on XBox and have the same issue. Re-downloading the game does not fix it. We had opened case MCD-5400.

ALL XBOX PLAYERS. This is specifically to all of you. If you have an issue with the infinite loading screen, then this means that your save file was corrupted. It could have happened on its own, or someone may have gifted you a corrupt weapon. Either way, the only possible solution is to DELETE your entire save. I know it sucks, I had every unique in game and was forced to do this. However, the new cloud save feature will prevent this from happening again. To delete everything, go into the Minecraft Dungeons game, Press the xbox button, scroll down to the Minecraft Dungeons game icon, press on the three line button, and click manage game and add-ons. Then click on where it shows Minecraft Dungeons. After you do that, click on your profile account and click delete from EVERYWHERE. After you have done this you will be able to play.

Pedro - My son was gifted a very powerful weapon, he will be sad to lose it. But your feedback may be enough to convince him that we have no choice but to delete everything. We will try this.

We have no option to "delete everywhere" in our Xbox screens so we cannot delete all our files. I will try searching the internet about this.

Heather - I am sorry to hear that he will lose it, however if he can gain a new one and download it to the cloud save again this will prevent the same issue in the future. Also, have you followed every step I said? This requires you to go into the game, and go to your manage game and addons. When you press on it and go to your profile, there will be an option to delete everywhere. This will include the cloud, so the corrupted data will be erased.

I hope you are successful in this, he could start anew with the release of the DLC today the Hidden Depths, along with the new Raid Captain Feature, a full anniversary of Minecraft Dungeons and powerful new enchantments.

My son has the same issue. It should be a simple fix to scrub the corrupted profile save files and fix this. After everything I've read and the response I recieved from Mojang support, I believe they don't intend to fix this issue. I think this is the punishment they are applying for accounts that get corrupt weapons. Absolutely ridiculous game support.

also affected by this problem for several months and can't find any solution, regrets to have bought the game when it worked at its release...

Tried deleting saved files, tried deleting the whole game and everything. Reinstalled and it still does NOT work! Same problem.. I mean come on, you pay for a game and you can't even play it! It has been months. You guys should start giving people their money back. this is so frustrating experience.

I updated the game but it still doesn't work...

I discovered that my solution to this was the Steam version. Prior to its release, I was using the Launcher version which wasn't working. However when the Steam version came out, I bought it and it worked for me. So something is stopping the Launcher from working (at least for me).

So this is still a problem as of writing this (19.10.2021).
I launch the game from the shared minecraft java/dungeon launcher on PC, it goes through the different start up animations and then gets to the character selection background without any logo/red loading cube. First a white empty box with a X in the top right corner pops up, and the only thing i can do is to press said X. Then it skips to the "proper" background with the logo in the top left, and the loading cube in the bottom right and it says "Press any button" and gets stuck there.

I've re-installed the game, repaired it, restarted both the launcher, the game and my computer several times (also restarted in between unstalls/installs).

For me it seems to have started happening after an update that came this weekend (16th-17th october) for the Halloween update. So it's a rather new problem for me as I've played the game for many hours without any issues before.

To add to the issue of "Not being able to launch and play properly" it also spikes my GPU usage to like 98% and makes my brand new gaming PC that runs wow/new world etc. (as examples of other games I play) on maxed out graphics without any issues at all, sound like an airplaine about to take off.

My son's XBox One Minecraft Dungeons is now unstuck! His game progress is where it was so none of his progress was lost. Somehow it was just restored. Several months ago we tried the deleting saved files but it was not fixed and still stuck. Now it is unstuck and my son is so happy to play again and he did not lose anything. 

I bought Minecraft dungeons a few days ago through the launcher, everything was fine until the moment I launched the game, the loading screen with the redstone block after the screen with the text "Press any button" loads indefinitely. I uninstalled, reinstalled the game, same with the 2 launchers, changed the game install location, made a copy of my save game and deleted all game files to do a clean install but nothing to do, I can no longer play Minecraft Dungeons 4 days after buying the game, spend 20 € (I live in Europe) for that it's a waste, I hope it will be fixed

This has started for me after downloading an update on Dec 16, 2021. Restarting does not change anything.

I found the fix for the pc users. There is a problem with the launcher i run MCD from the installation folder and is working

I'm having the same problem in April of 2022. I can click past the empty white dialog, but then the redstone block just spins forever. 

I've tried running MCD directly (sans launcher) as admin, but it did the same thing. My internet connection is good. I've logged out of and back into my MS account. The repair installation did nothing. Not sure what else to try. 

Same, I've tried everything they said and i looked on YouTube to i just don't know what to do anymore.

I have not played dungeons for like a year, went to open it and I updated minecraft dungeons on my switch and it's getting stuck loading with the spinning redstone block. :|

I forced the game to close and reopened and it worked fine.

Deleting saves didn't help. Nothing helped. At the same time, everything works on xbox, and you can play. Just not on PC

The steps from MCD-5306 clear this problem for me, so I have added them to the panel. I believe this is the same issue as MCD-5306. The blank white window mentioned on that report comes up for me, and the infinite redstone block spinner happens after I close that window by clicking the X in its top right corner.
