me and my friend have both been stuck on the loading screen for over 10 minutes and we still havent been able to get into the game

Does the issue persist after restarting the game? What are your system specs?

I'm having the same issue. I've narrowed it down to being an online problem.

For me: turning on flight mode/ disconnecting wifi will let me go to the character select menu. And as long as I select a local only / offline game, I can play it fine. If I try to select Online Game from the character select screen it won't let me go any further. This usually freezes my options until I press X to change character.

Also, for me: this only started happening after my first play of the game when I managed to load the game normally (online) and link my Microsoft account.

Edit to add: I'm on version 1.1.0.0 on Nintendo Switch

I Bought the game yesterday evening and haven't been able to play it yet due to this issue. I have reinstalled the game twice, I don't know what else to do.
