Jay PhillipsWe are investigating an issue on Nintendo Switch, and will use this ticket to track this specific platform issue.
Some users have found the following steps useful as a potential workaround:
Installed game on my primary console this morning. Played through tutorial in offline, local co-op with one other player. Then, we stopped for lunch and when we tried to reload the game it gets stuck on the loading screen just after the "Press Any Button" prompt.
I reinstalled the game. I also deleted the save file and recreated the issue. Once again we were able to play through the tutorial. Then, we closed the game and restarted it only to get stuck on the same screen.
I tried the game on my secondary console and it works fine. However, I have only played it offline single-player.
EDIT: Not sure if this matters, but we were playing with two wired, third-party controllers.
Same issue here, stuck (for at least 20 minutes, closed the game after that) on the screen after Pressing Any Button.
Managed to get the game to start by turning off my router.
Guessing the issue may be Xbox Live and/or Nintendo Online services.
Cool, glad I'm not alone (although I take no satisfaction in our shared frustration). Oddly enough, it works fine on my Switch Lite which is a secondary console and therefore has to be online in order to launch the game.

Yes I'm aware of the search feature. However, given the very limited amount of information provided in
MCD-142, I had no reason to assume it was the same issue. You might want to focus more effort on making the game playable and less on condescending to people who come here to report issues in good faith.Thank you for your report!

Me and my wife are having the same problem, both on Nintendo switch been playing past two days now our games won’t load when it try’s to sign in to our Microsoft accounts it just keeps trying to go online until i turn off internet and play offline mode. I tried to reinstall but it seems there’s no way to sign out of the linked Microsoft account like you can on computer.
Wow, I was think Im first person that I have that bug, hahaha now i dont feel alone, I dont know if someone help that but this happen to me when I changed my Microsoft Account password, and I guess the Game console dont update that, but dont ask me to reinput my crendential, I have that infinite loop on the home screen, when I geting here, I read to solve this issue, just doing this, I need to put my Nintendo Switch on Flight Mode and access the game offline, then logout my MS Account and then close the game, put it back Online my Nintendo Switch, and open the game, and I have to input my account again like the first time, now I have the issue solved! =D
Similar problem: worked in offline mode on a secondary device, then failed on all devices once I tried online mode on the primary device. Not resolved by deleting and re-installing, or by transferring the saved game data from one device to the other. Game still works for secondary players (ie not the "owner" of the game but using the owner's primary console).

when i sign out my account, i made another microsoft account, since i thought the problem could be the microsoft that it has already already and linked it, and now i am playing online with my friends.
For those affected, could you please tell us which platform you are using, and which date and time you are experiencing the issue? (including timezone.)

I started experiencing this issue on switch 1.1.2.0 immediately after I tried to link my account on my PC through Xbox game pass. I logged out on my PC and came back to my switch to see this error pop up.
so I followed the instructions above in airplane mode and got it to work. However I am unable to link ANY Microsoft account. As soon as I attempt to link from the settings page the Error pops up right away and only gives me an option to close the game. I am not even given the option to link a different account.
at least for now I can play offline and not lose 20hours of play. Hope it gets fixed soon.
I had this same issue on Switch around 2:00pm PST. Replicated the steps above (airplane mode, sign out, sign back in, etc.) and it works just fine. It looks like the problem was Microsoft had locked my account due to suspicious activity or something. Very strange. Hopefully it stays fixed.
I did follow the instructions so I can continue playing.
I just don't want to have to do this everytime I'm going to play MCD.
Cool "solution", but what if you play in docked mode and can't turn on airplane mode?
Brian, you can press and hold the HOME button and a little "quick menu" will show up. There you will find "Airplane Mode".
once you fix the issue it wont happen again.
once you unlink your microsoft account link the game to a different one, you can do that, if you want to play online o fcourse.
Arthur, Airplane Mode isn't available when docked. I followed Luis Peneda's instructions from a previous comment and that solved the problem.
If your signed into Minecraft dungeons on Xbox console/or PC (game pass PC beta) when already logged into Nintendo switch. It will also time out for a good 20 minutes before refreshing
I've had this same issue with my Switch. I did find the Airplane work around but once the profile is finally loaded it still hangs when trying to play an online game and then you can't switch back to offline game. It just hangs there. But I didn't try to logout of the microsoft account first.
For those saying it doesn't work when docked. I play docked too. Just undock it while setting up the airplane mode and login to profile then turn off airplane mode and redock.
I have only played offline games in single and multiplayer. The bug did not appear for about 2 weeks, and now i cannot access the game. Loggin out and back in is not a fix. This bug renders the game unplayable, which is sad, as I was beginning to really enjoy it.
I have also had this issue, and on 1.4.0.0 it can make daily trials unplayable
