Server causes high CPU usage even when idling

How many cores are you running? And whats the processor? BDS needs lots of CPU power to make it run decently. I tried BDS with a 1 Core VPS and the load was 100% at all times. Using Ubuntu 18.04 server

1 Core CPU on Google Cloud VM . Debian 9.

50% CPU all time.

We have seen that the BDS-243 flag has been resolved. Can I update to the latest beta?

BDS-243 has been resolved as a duplicate of this issue – that doesn't mean that issue was fixed.

Seeing 100% on 2 cores all the time on a Google Cloud VM on bedrock_server 1.8.0.24.

While there appears to be an issue with BDS and performance when users are connected. When idle my Ubuntu test server is in the 0.X% range.

Yes, this high CPU usage problem persists in the Linux version of BDS.
BDS in Windows version works fine.

We have an engineer performing a reverse analysis of the Linux version of the BDS kernel and found that there are many places that are not optimized, so the performance is much worse than the Windows version.

Sorry its taken so long for me to get back to you. We're actually already tracking this issue under BDS-2574.

I realise this ticket is far older than that one however as i was going through the backlog it appeared to be the one with the most "watchers" (community members who have requested updates on the ticket) and had a substantial amount of information. It has since been forwarded onto Mojang!

If you would like to add a vote and any extra information that's missing to the main ticket it would be appreciated.
