ARTICLE 1: WHETHER A HOT DOG IS A TYPE OF SANDWICH?
OBJECTION 1: It seems as though a hot dog is a type of sandwich. For the term “sandwich” is commonly said of such foods constituted by meat, fish, vegetables, condiments, etc. surrounded on two sides by bread. I ANSWER THAT, a hot dog is not a type of sandwich. For the Merriam-Webster dictionary defines a sandwich as “two pieces of bread with something (such as meat, peanut butter, etc.) between them” and a hot dog as “a small cooked sausage that is mild in flavor and is usually served in a long roll (called a hot dog bun).” Now a hot dog bun is by nature one continuous piece of bread. Hence a cooked sausage, placed inside a hot dog bun, is not contained by two separate pieces of bread, but by one continuous body. Therefore a hot dog is not a type of sandwich. Nor is it a type of sandwich if the sausage be placed between two pieces of a formerly continuous bun; for the bun, after division, is still substantially a bun, yet a corrupted version of it. Now a thing which becomes corrupted does not have its substance changed, just as the human soul, when corrupted by sin, does not cease to be a human soul. Therefore a sausage placed inside two separated halves of a hot dog bun does not constitute a sandwich, but a corrupted hot dog.
REPLY TO OBJECTION 1: Though a hot dog be constituted of a sausage surrounded on two sides by bread, it is surrounded on two sides by one continuous piece of bread, rather than two, as stated above. And a sandwich, as also stated above, by nature consists of two pieces of bread containing some other food. Therefore a hot dog is not a type of sandwich.

A grilled cheese consists of only these following items. Cheese. Bread with spread (usually butter). This entire subreddit consist of "melts". Almost every "grilled cheese" sandwich i see on here has other items added to it. The fact that this subreddit is called "grilledcheese" is nothing short of utter blasphemy. Let me start out by saying I have nothing against melts, I just hate their association with sandwiches that are not grilled cheeses. Adding cheese to your tuna sandwich? It's called a Tuna melt. Totally different. Want to add bacon and some pretentious bread crumbs with spinach? I don't know what the hell you'd call that but it's not a grilled cheese. I would be more than willing to wager I've eaten more grilled cheeses in my 21 years than any of you had in your entire lives. I have one almost everyday and sometimes more than just one sandwich. Want to personalize your grilled cheese? Use a mix of different cheeses or use sourdough or french bread. But if you want to add some pulled pork and take a picture of it, make your own subreddit entitled "melts" because that is not a fucking grilled cheese. I'm not a religious man nor am I anything close to a culinary expert. But as a bland white mid-western male I am honestly the most passionate person when it comes to grilled cheese and mac & cheese. All of you foodies stay the hell away from our grilled cheeses and stop associating your sandwich melts with them. Yet again, it is utter blasphemy and it rocks me to the core of my pale being. Shit, I stopped lurking after 3 years and made this account for the sole purpose of posting this. I've seen post after post of peoples "grilled cheeses" all over reddit and it's been driving me insane. The moment i saw this subreddit this morning I finally snapped. Hell, I may even start my own subreddit just because I know this one exists now.
You god damn heretics. Respect the grilled cheese and stop changing it into whatever you like and love it for it what it is. Or make your damn melt sandwich and call it for what it is. A melt.
What about sandwiches served in long rolls/buns such as cheesesteaks and poboys and subs? Are those not sandwiches?

Such a food is properly classified as a third group apart from sandwiches and hot dogs, for the container of such a food is neither two pieces of bread nor a hot dog bun. For convenient purposes one might casually refer to such a food as a "sandwich" but substantially it is another food altogether.
I disagree. You provide two different definitions for a sandwich in Objections One and Objections Three. A Submarine Sandwich would certainly fit the classification of sandwich in the first listed definition.

Well, I never thought I'd see the day, but I am officially renouncing the Philadelphia Eagles as my football team. Its not all the losses and heartbreak. Its not the terrible trade deals and coaching decisions. Its what the organization has come to stand for. They pushed their luck a few years ago by signing Michael "convict" Vic the dog killer. But now, with their willingness to support the DESPICABLE, DISGRACEFUL, DEPLORABLE, AND OUTRIGHT DISRESPECTFUL act of not standing for the National Anthem, I just simply will not support them in any manner. I will never support a team with management that allows this offensive behavior. Yeah sure there are a lot of people that say its their right, you know what I say, "where the heck is your respect? Where is your sense? There is a time and a place, and the right way and wrong way to go about sending your message. Trampling on the National Anthem, is spitting on the graves of those who fought and died for you and me. Its like slapping every family member who lost a loved one in the face as hard as you can. America isn't perfect, we sure have our problems, but it's not the National Anthem. So stop protesting it. All it does is piss people off and divide us further. We don't need that. Anyway, I am now officially a Dallas Cowboys fan. I've been taught all my life to hate them, but in all honesty I should've joined them because they represent what I believe, an unrivaled love for God, Country and Football. They are America's team, thats good enough for me. I did not leave the Eagles, they left me. I just hope more fans have the courage to recognize that themselves and make the change. God bless America and enjoy the game!

Well, I never thought I'd see the day, but I am officially renouncing the Philadelphia Eagles as my football team. Its not all the losses and heartbreak. Its not the terrible trade deals and coaching decisions. Its what the organization has come to stand for. They pushed their luck a few years ago by signing Michael "convict" Vic the dog killer. But now, with their willingness to support the DESPICABLE, DISGRACEFUL, DEPLORABLE, AND OUTRIGHT DISRESPECTFUL act of not standing for the National Anthem, I just simply will not support them in any manner. I will never support a team with management that allows this offensive behavior. Yeah sure there are a lot of people that say its their right, you know what I say, "where the heck is your respect? Where is your sense? There is a time and a place, and the right way and wrong way to go about sending your message. Trampling on the National Anthem, is spitting on the graves of those who fought and died for you and me. Its like slapping every family member who lost a loved one in the face as hard as you can. America isn't perfect, we sure have our problems, but it's not the National Anthem. So stop protesting it. All it does is piss people off and divide us further. We don't need that. Anyway, I am now officially a Dallas Cowboys fan. I've been taught all my life to hate them, but in all honesty I should've joined them because they represent what I believe, an unrivaled love for God, Country and Football. They are America's team, thats good enough for me. I did not leave the Eagles, they left me. I just hope more fans have the courage to recognize that themselves and make the change. God bless America and enjoy the game!
