This issue was reported two days before the official release of 0.14.0, so the developers probably didn't have time to get to it. Give them at least until 0.14.1 before re-establishing it as a bug.

Confirmed for 0.15.0. (Tested on Windows 10.) Also, some interesting notes:
1. In hand and as an item-entity, the chests look correct, but not as an item in the inventory/hotbar.
2. The trapped chest in all cases uses the same texture as the regular chest, and so therefore is missing the slight red tinge around the latch when it is in inventory-item and dropped-item form.

Why won't fix?? It's a parity issue! Still affecrs 1.16.100
I’m a bit confused as to how this can’t get fixed, but I don’t blame the devs if they physically cannot fix this issue. This bug is affective on Nintendo Switch, Windows 10, and PS4 as well (and assuming this bug is affective on all other platforms). This also affects the latest beta (1.16.200.56).

man are bedrock devs lazy or something? this is supposed to be an easy to fix bug and they just closed it as won't fix. meanwhile Java devs recently fixed a bug that has existed for 9 years. c'mon Jay, you could definitely do better
This issue should possibly be reopened as it has been shown through other item models that 3d effects can be added to hotbar items, with a good example being the grindstone and the lectern. Otherwise, effects 1.18.2.
