Unable to continue after startup because of white window

Upon launching the game via the Minecraft Launcher, I'm greeted with a "press any button" screen. Once I do that, the game loads up a white rectangular window that has no content (see attached file). If I exit it out of it, the game will load for an infinite amount on the pre-game screen (y'know, the one with the campfire and moonlight). There are no other options.
