So the launcher logs under C:\Users\$USER\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft don't show any errors. Shows it launching the Dungeons process and closing itself. So I tried to launch Dungeons.exe from a powershell window, and then I had a popup window (same shape and size) but it was asking me to log into my account. So I did so and then the game started as it should.
So best guess is the auth token work you see being done in the launcher app doesn't get passed correctly into the next process.

Confirmed, if I try to use the launcher it still behaves weird with the useless popup. But if I launch Dungeons.exe directly it works just fine.
