[WP] Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet vs an all-powerful 7 year old who keeps coming up with new superpowers for his imaginary friend.

Thanos remarked to the child after several more futile attempts to rid of him. "Isn't it past your bedtime?"

The child retorts back with a silly grin, "Yeah, but I'm not tired at all!"

Thanos then has a smirk form across his face, "So does that mean your mom doesn't know?" Thanos then snaps his fingers. By the time the child realized his grave mistake, it was too late. The bane of all children, the one above all, an angry mother. The child has a look of horror on his face.

The child's mother looks in utter confusion appearing in Thano's presence. She's wearing a nightgown and has a makeup mask on her face. "Where the heck am I?!"

"I do apologise for interrupting your beauty sleep. My name's Thanos. I'm afraid your son is out here in space, wanting to play with me."

Mrs. Smith turns to her son with a glare that can scare any child into a babbling mess, and speaks in a sharp tone that can cut through steel. "Jeremy Timothy Smith, is this true?"

"Uhhh, kinda mom. But my imaginary friend brought me here! It's not my fault!"

"YOUNG MAN! You snuck out of your room into who knows where, what if you've gotten hurt?!"

"But I'm okay, mom!"

"THIS time! What if you weren't okay?? How do you think that would make me and your father feel?!? We're going back home young man, and we'll be seeing that bald professor so he can do something about this imaginary friend. You're also grounded for a week!"

"But mooom!"

"Do you want to be grounded for TWO weeks??"

Jeremy Smith was about to protest, but closed his mouth. "Oooh fiiine."

Thanos chimes in, "I'll gladly transport the both of you back home. Just don't let your son near my premises again."

Mrs. Smith replies back with a more calming tone, "I'll make sure of that, Mr. Thanos. Thank you for letting me know about my son's whereabouts."

"Anytime."

Just as Thanos is about to snap his fingers to send the two back, he calls to Jeremy. "Oh, one last thing Jeremy Smith. I win". Thanos gives a smug grin, Jeremy gives a pouting look, and they disappear from his view as Thanos sent them back to their home.

Thanos held up the gauntlet, a triumphant smile painting his face with a dark malice. After nearly a hundred years of searching the universe for the power of the infinity stones he had at last assembled a power that would let him conquer it all. He raised it above his head, grabbing the heavens with the strength of the gauntlet.

"With this gauntlet, I have the power to control infinity! With this power, all shall kneel before me!" His words echoed throughout the universe. There was not a single being in his dimension that failed to hear his declaration of conquest. With a wave of his hand, Thanos ensured that no pair of eyes were blind to the death of a friend, family member, or loved one. In seconds, the universe was filled with death.

Soon after, the voice of Thanos was replaced with the screams of a trillion creatures. Their sounds of anguish came in a thousand different languages and shared a trillion different pains. It was a noise capable of being broken by only one other: the light popping of a seven year old child as the materialized into existence in front of Thanos.

"Jimmy can do infinity plus one!" He exclaimed to Thanos, rocking back and forth on the heels of his feet. He smiled in direct opposition to Thanos. Rather than presenting a mouth filled with malice, his teeth glowed with the optimism of a rising sun after the darkest night.

Thanos didn't take kindly to the disruption of his grand victory. Where once he would have crushed the child under his heel, he now snapped his fingers. He no longer had a need for physical strength when the gauntlet could simply erase his opposition.

But nothing came of it. The child still stood there, bouncy and filled with light. The only thing standing in the way of his glow was a dark shadow that grew from behind his back. It expanded, developing a sickly green glow and blazing red eyes that pierced Thanos' soul.

With a deep hiss, it developed an arm. Soon, this was followed by a hand that grew fingers. By the time Thanos realized what the creature was doing, it was too late. Its fingers made contact, left one another, and released a snap that reverberated throughout the universe.

Where Thanos once stood now lay a small, smoking pile of ash. With a snap of its fingers the creature had done exactly what Thanos had done only seconds before. It eliminated half the life in the universe... plus one.

Thanos stood and looked in the mirror, unhappy with the lines that had settled into the tiny child's face.

power gem

Thanos felt the presence of his challenger and immediately took pause at the scope of the child's power. His own power level on the scale of a hawk in a reality of ants, and yet this "boy" held such power it was like that of a raging storm to the mad titan's respective bird of prey; closing his fist he sought to beat his metaphorical wings to steady his couse against the raging tempest represented as a 7 year old. For his insight the Titan needed only feel the trembles in his power gem, as the energies bled off and out from its red depths and invisibly flowed in resonance with the child's presence.

Reality Gem

The titan's eyes would widen as he realized there would be no blinking this child out of existence as he had done to so many threats of the past; each effort would only be met with naught but greater powers bestowed upon his companion. There would be no victory here by merely wishing the child away. Efforts to do so only offered sparks of inspiration in the boy to grant more power to his minion. The Titan could not win a direct assault, he could not insulate the threat by casting it to a far corner of reality- he could not simply apply the forces of his gems to unmake or displace his opponents, attempting to do so would only expans the power he granted his thrall while not impacting upon the threat himself. Though through use of his reality gem Thanos had the benefit of intuiting the feedback nature of any assults using the blunt power of his soul gems, his reality was informed and as result he refrained from any further use of his own reality warping ability; appearing regretful at having allowed the child to learn and bestow upon his friend the ability to snap his fingers and unmake the existence of anything displeasing to his maker.

mind gem

As no assault would offer any progress save empowering his opponent's representative, the Titan employed a strategy of nuance and grinned angrily as he turned his power upon himself, and his own gauntlet, imbuing within himself a defense against mental probing or manipulation beyond those he may typically employ-- so great it would impede his own capacity to employ any other psychis offence until such defenses were lightened, even with bolstering by the power gem or reality gem--Thanos has closed his mind to his would-be attackers, and so the child granted the same powers to his companion, as well as the power to peer into the titan's mind, past his new defenses. The Titan grinned angrily again as his madness began to seep into the boy's companion, the boy ignorant to the connection he had just facilitated.

space gem

the titan's grin appeared to fade into first boredom and then frustration, having first waved his hand to express being done with all this sillyNess while simultaneously fanning all of space to expand between himself and the fabricated challenger --his frustration accented by a brief parting of lips before pursing them together, as the child's champion now instantly granted superior space-warping powers wagged his finger at thanos, and curled it towards its palm, in one gesture drawing the Titan back to the boy who now rested on his enlarged companion's palm, as the Titan found himself stood on the now giant being's fingertip looking up at him. The imagined being now representing nearly all of space.

time gem / soul gem

The Titan seemed to blink out of existence as he fled back through the time stream, the boy had no trouble pursuing as his buddy was now more adept at traveling through time than the conqueror himself. Thanos found his pursuors managed to preceeding him at his destination. The child was screaming, but not, the child was there but not, oscillating from reality into unbeing--trying to scream but not getting to as the moment looped over and over on the cusp of the companion's next move. The Titan would savour this moment. He knew there was a chance this would unmake all of everything --or at the very least this instant drawn out into infinity would be the only opportunity to remember this victory. The Titan grinned perversely as he marveled at the novelty of the way events played out. The boy stood transfixed as his companion aimed the hands with power to blink lesser beings out of existence at the beings in front of the boy. --the boy's parents frozen in front of them, sweat and fluid misting off their bodies frozen in rippling thrusts against one another's nude forms as they, in the very act of making this godlike child, are themselves being unmade by him, and thus erasing his own existence.

Epilogue:

As the universe tried to snap itself back from this paradox the Titan got a twinkle in his eye; he allowed the child to unmake himself only to then reassemble reality as it had been in the past, remaking the boy's parents and their histories exactly as they were from nothingness, in order that time would play out just as events thus far had, the boy would dream up the being to challenge the Titan, empower the being and then use the being to end his own existence at the age of 7, in a loop that would end his 7 year run back at the moment he should first have been conceived.

The Titan made only a slight alteration by using his soul gem together with both reality gem and time gem & remake these parents of a god--he grafted his own soul through time to a repository linked to the being they created, a repository he could one day reclaim and reabsorbed into himself. A repository this boy god would one day dream up in the form of an imaginary friend when his powers manifest...

This reminds me of the Dragon Ball Z episodes with Buu fighting Gotenks.
