I have friend whose family name was something like "Radokowskivonsomething" and was just just shortened down to Rader at Ellis Island. Probably a mix of a lot of people coming through and a bit of laziness due to the daily grind of their job.
Well a guy I know's last name is emberwits, but it's sure as hell not spelled that way=imberocwitz or some shit. Also, Chef Boy-are-dee, definitely not spelled that way. Sometimes you have to change your name, sometimes you don't, either way someone is going to mispronounce it
There's a lot of Chinese people who's names start with Q and X. Giving them baseball bats let's them take on a lot of people... They're definitely contenders.

Well it was common, her own father did it. He was born as Albert but reigned as George. Allot of people actually expected her to reign under a different name, because Queen Elizabeth I was very iconic.
I was once on an oil platform with 34 people total. 4 of us were named Zach, and all of us spelled it differently. (Zach (the one and only correct way.) Zack, Zac, and Zech. We would have probably at least stood a chance of securing the platform.
I love that everyone here is just naming male names and not female. Like seriously I think globally females outnumber males and if the don't it's still a huge percentage of people.

Team T is the best! And if we use all letters, people in places like China and Japan would be split into way smaller teams. Also, is this literally first name, or given name? There will be a huge number of Chinese under 'W,' 'L,' and 'Z' or 'X' depending on which transliteration system you use. Zhang Wei, Wang Wei, Wang Fang, Li Wei, Wang Xiu Ying, Li Xiu Wing, and Li Na being tops of the charts for given names. What if your first name doesn't begin with a Latin letter? Not everyone uses that letter. Some places don't even have a written alphabet. And if we use all letters, people in places like China and Japan would be split into way smaller teams. Also, is this literally first name, or given name? Some places put the family name first then the given name.
