Not sure if you're joking or not but they were just in this past super bowl after having a near undefeated season that got a lot of attention in the US. Cam is a fun personality and talented athlete who was winning a lot, so he and his dabbing got a lot of attention here in the states over the course of the season. Migos even called him the "dab daddy". Pogba and the euros caught on later after it started getting big here. I mean this independent article says as much. Not to be all america-centric, but the dab undeniably originated and became popular in the US, and it broke out of the atlanta rap scene to the mainstream consciousness largely due to Cam Newton.
