That's not how youtube works. As time goes on accounts die (because people stop using them), or people forget to unsubscribe. Views/month is a much better metric.
Even not going past Smosh, they have literally 10x as many subscribers as they did 5 years ago. They're only at ~1.4x as many views/month.
99% of popular youtubers have more subs now than they did 5-10 years ago. It's very rare that a channel actually loses subs.

It realised that being a toddler was getting them nowhere and started working towards being an adult.
The channel was pretty active right up until Joe quit and went to be one of the hosts for Source Fed. Suppose that took up most all his time, because right after he joined all the videos for B&B almost dried up instantaneous.
I was in one of their later videos, and I've run into Joe a couple of times since. SUPER nice guy. I saw him at the Capt. America premier a few weeks ago. I dunno what he's doing outside of SourceFed, but he has grown a magnificent mustache and was rocking some glasses. I had to do a triple-take before I realized it was actually him.
I know the other one Joe Bereta just works as Smosh's bitch. He hangs around behind the scenes in the Smosh filmings and directs people to do things so Smosh gets more views/money from teenage audiences.
I love the fact that UK Mother's Day is on a different day to the US one. There's always at least one post that reaches the front page every Mothering Sunday that scares the shit out of Americans.

If you're trying to find x in x=12x+8, you first move all terms containing x to one side. Moving a term to another side reverses its positive/negative sign, so moving 12x over turns it into -12x. The equation is now x-12x. Now you subtract one x from 12 x's, giving you -11 x's. Since -11x=8 and we're trying to find x, divide both sides by -11 to get rid of the coefficient and isolate the variable. -11x divided by -11 leaves you with x, and 8 divided by -11 gives you -8/11. Subtract x from both sides to solve. This will look like x (-x) = 12x+8 (-x). Which is the same as x-x = (12x-x)+8. This is simplified to 0 = 11x+8. Hope this helps
Because x=x seems unsolveable if you haven't done math in a couple years. It is solveable though. It would be easy to a high schooler. Just just subtract 12x from x and then divide -11 on both sides to get x = -8/11.

Plenty of community efforts produce great results when there's no monetization. It's hard to think of a single YouTube channel I visit regularly now that isn't educational, and often ad-free. The comedy stuff might have a budget now, but it's also tryhard, not funny, and built around making money.
The fault is monetization. The fault is people pandering to the lowest-common-denominator because it widens the audience, when before they could just make what they wanted and not have to worry about the bottom-line.

Because x=x seems unsolveable if you haven't done math in a couple years. It is solveable though. It would be easy to a high schooler. Just just subtract 12x from x and then divide -11 on both sides to get x = -8/11.
