You know Facebook allows you to edit the video before you post it, right? I did kind of the same thing with mine. I removed the stuff Facebook chose and put in my own, and repeated several pictures, mostly to be funny.
All OP did was edit the video to show what pictures he wanted to show.

I realized something lately, facebook is completely different from what it used to be. It used to be statuses, blog updates, photos, etc. Really it was just a great way of keeping up with people and feeling involved in their lives. Now it's just gifs, memes, buzzfeed lists, and politics. Like, it's gone from social media to social media if that makes sense.
I laughed so hard I teared up a little bit. I expected something like that, but god seeing the same photo again and again was hilarious for some reason.

Showed me and a picture of a friend who robbed a store, blamed me for it, and he would have gotten away with it had he not said a damn thing. Best part was he was living in my house rent free at the time. Good times.......great memories.......
Same thing happened with me, except she passed away about a year and a half ago. Still, it was a little sweet. Seeing her picture still makes me smile, even if it's not a very happy smile.

I feel so much better now because mine was pretty much my mom and cat but got in me drinking with two girls I know I will never so much as speak to again and a friend who I rarely talk to who lives halfway around the country, said photo was posted seven years ago. Oh, and also got a car accident in mine. But mostly it was my mom.
Yep. I posted a fuck ton during a hard breakup and those were my busiest statuses friend-wise. Ugh.

Same! My wife's divorcing me so I have to be in touch with her frequently through Facebook messenger so the first picture was her, and second was her brother who lives overseas and I almost never talk to.
I just laughed and declined the kind offer to post it.
Mine showed me three pictures of the girl I'm seeing, a few pictures with close friends, then ended with a picture of me and my ex. I was like the fuck Facebook.
My video was actually decent, until the "your friends are pretty awesome" pic pulled up one of my (former) favorite pics of me and my ex gf. Kinda just made the whole thing depressing. and I almost posted it, too.
Yeah mine was just a bunch of pics of my ex (who I have blocked on Facebook) who cheated on me. Thanks "Friend's day" for reminding me of some very dark times in my life. Lol.
That's my life right now. It looks much worse in written form than it is actually living it. Life is too short and too awesome to dwell on the past and/or the negatives.

I don't think that section is supposed to be just for a birthday. I think it's meant to be a time when a bunch of your friends all posted on your wall the same time. It just always happens to be a birthday is the time when you probably had the most people comment.
I think it's birthday. I don't have my birthday on FB and on my video that part was just blank. But I got engaged, graduated and got married this year so there were at least a few times when I had a lot of people posting on my wall in particular days.
I have seen videos where it wasnt a birthday. One of my mates even had a photo where him and 4 mates got incredibly drunk one night and posed in their undies out in the street in sydney. That was a pretty appropriate "And remember this?"
One of my mates had is birthday during the French terrors attack and it showed an horrible picture as a happy moment too ! That was kinda funny in a fucked up way.
I love that Facebook has taken out the middleman entirely - no longer do you have to wait for your friends and family to remind you of how shitty your life is, now Facebook does it for you!

I honestly thought the person whose image was used repeatedly at the start where your friends are meant to be shown had made this as a joke, and that's why there isn't any comments, because the person who made it couldn't be fucked finding comments and figuring out how to scroll them over the image.

Either way the true op of the video edited the arrangement. You can edit the pictures and which ones show. I did that because it Only had one picture of my girlfriend and I.

I think it depends. Mine actually made me smile. Never actually thought facebook would make me appreciate my friendship with people more.
It's basically a video generator, it takes your closest friends' default pictures + random pictures you have posted with friends and pictures you have been tagged in.
Also, it's just not as funny as most people are saying it it. I think Reddit is just drunk since it's Saturday night. Or maybe I'm just too drunk to find it funny.
I actually liked my FB friends video... until I realized that it shows the people I tagged as "close friends" at the beginning of the video... and to be honest a lot of these "close friends" are hot female acquaintances that always post provocative pictures
So yeah can't really share it on FB without being giving up my cover haha

Yes! I'm so happy to see them get exposure. They've been my favorite music group since someone posted a Minecraft video on reddit five years ago with a song of theirs.
Mine isn't much different. All pics from 2009-2012. Considering I haven't done much since then on FB pictures wise, I'd say the whole friends day thing is lame.
Vid is down. I wonder what it was? My Friends Day video was pretty bad. It opened up with the profile pics of my last three fuck buddies. Ya, I'm gonna pass on that share, thanks. Nice try, Facebook.

They're great. That's what you get my letting an unfeeling algorithm determine 'friends' and 'memories' and maybe in the not to distant future, 'life saving measures'.
I've noticed that fb friends videos have some of the comments appearing, particularly when it says "remember this" and assuming everyone gets fb birthday wishes.
IE: if none of the pictures have scrolling comments, I assume the video was altered by the user, and not randomly generated like we'd like to believe.
I skimmed through the first time and just saw a picture of a car accident and people in a hospital. I thought, as mean as it is, "ugh just another empathy karma grab". Came back to see this nearing 3000 points and thought I'd watch it actually.
"Way out west there was this fella I wanna tell ya about. Goes by the name of Tyler. At least that was the handle his loving parents gave him, but he never had much use for it himself. See, this Tyler, he called himself "The Dude". Now, "Dude" - there's a name no man would self-apply where I come from. So my fiance was just telling me how she didn't like seeing my ex on fb right.. and i'm k what ever.. Play the facebook video and it's like bam there is your ex... here is you and your ex again... this goes on .. Not one fucking picture of my Fiance' from God knows how many pictures and status tag updates over the last 4 years.. but .. facebooks like lets bring up that ex from 5 years ago.
Took me a minute too, since I don't have Facebook. Looks like Facebook offers some automated video that takes pictures tagged as something and puts it together in a "Friends Day" video for you. Guess this guy didn't have that many to choose from or it was altered so that only those pictures were used.
I'm the OP that posted the original, and I fucked up hardcore. I deleted the video because I neglected to tell my friend that I uploaded it to YouTube (check /u/wutda7 comment on this thread)since his profile is private and I wanted to share it with my friend who isn't friends with Tyler on FB. I thought my favorite sub /r/nottimanderic would get a kick out of it so I shared it there. I never meant for it to get this out of hand.

I realized something lately, facebook is completely different from what it used to be. It used to be statuses, blog updates, photos, etc. Really it was just a great way of keeping up with people and feeling involved in their lives. Now it's just gifs, memes, buzzfeed lists, and politics. Like, it's gone from social media to social media if that makes sense.

To put it simply: Facebook auto-generates a video of you and your friends for "friend day" (whatever the fuck that is).

Hate to point this out but....
I've noticed that fb friends videos have some of the comments appearing, particularly when it says "remember this" and assuming everyone gets fb birthday wishes.
IE: if none of the pictures have scrolling comments, I assume the video was altered by the user, and not randomly generated like we'd like to believe.
