idk about him, but my good speakers died a few months ago so I have my shitty $10 BigLots box speaker plugged in. My Master volume is at 50% and my youtube was just about 20% too because I started the video at 50% and the first combo "Testing" was pretty loud. Here I am expecting a super loud "Testing". Nope the trumpets blare and the room erupts in the sound of speakers about to shred. My eardrums are no more.
You need to calibrate more! I made 100% be the loudest I'll ever want it.
Generally I'm at 10-20% if I'm being quiet, 50% if I'm listening to something during the day at normal volume, and 75-90% for things that are quiet and I have to turn up or if I'm listening to music loudly and want to vacuum at the same time.
I understand that, I suppose. However, the noise at the end was mixed so much louder than the rest of the video, there was no way anyone could reasonably expect a volume increase of that much. I'm mostly just pissed because based on OP's title, I was expecting to happily relive one of my favorite Simpsons moments, only to have my entire house reverberate with that stupid shit at the end.

You're right, that 35 second video wasted SOO much time. If one loud noises puts you guys in a shitty mood you just need to relax, man. Don't get so worked up over a joke.
Perhaps not but I have done so in horror films. Jump scares tend to be loud and the louder it is, the scarier it will be for me. So if I anticipate a jump scare I will turn my volume down. That's the only time I've done it, though.
But if turning down the volume diminishes how much it scares you then that defeats the whole point of watching a horror movie with those kinds of scares...
That's like watching standup comedy and muting it right before each joke's punchline
Oh, and they are meant to surprise you, so if you can anticipate them, they have already lost. It's like you guessing the punchlines before they're said in a comedy standup.
Because most of the youtube videos are made by people that do not know how editing works, so they don't bother to see if it is loud or not when editting the video.
I'm not saying that I expected it to be loud, I knew it was because of the tag in the title and the fact that this video was basically asking for a troll john cena edit.

I still think about the Harlem shake from time to time. I don't know why, but I just couldn't get tired of it. I liked every stupid Harlem shake clip. Some fads just do it for you.
That one is awesome. I got a notification e-mail from youtube once, that I was one of the first people to watch that video, which became one of the most watched videos of that year. I have never been so proud of myself for doing absolutely nothing.

I have seen this thing hundreds of time now and I STILL have no Idea who John Cena is. Something from a Sport. A Boxer? Wrestler? A Football player who for some reason is very famous? I don't even know.
He's a Wrestler in WWE, and usually is referring to when suddenly John Cena comes out.

Oooh. I had no idea that that's how this dumb meme got so big. I just thought there were a lot of wrestler fans. I had heard the prank call, but didn't know it sort of started it. Jeez that's dumb. Oh well.
I think it could be attributed with wrestling fans, like myself who watched it when I was younger and John Cena was pretty big. So, it wasn't like myself or any of my friend who knew about it, only knew about John Cena before the meme or phone call.

Megaphones don't simply mechanically amplify whatever is put in by a certain factor.
There's a speaker inside there making the noise, and there's a limit to how loud a given speaker can be. Doesn't matter how loud a signal you send to the speaker, it can't make noises louder than its limit.

Megaphones are directional, so I don't know if they're able to output a noise loud enough that their own microphone will pick it up and amplify it, creating feedback.
In the "chain of megaphones" scenario you would get something that might sound quite similar though. Megaphones aren't the exactly hi-fi equipment, so there's a lot of noise and crackling on the signal, even when you're not inputting any noise. This noise would be amplified successively by the other megaphones, adding noise, so Bart's setup would most likely just sound something like this at a really high volume.
If that's the case - that the noise alone ended up maxing out the megaphones -, you probably wouldn't hear much of a difference between the fly buzzing and Bart shouting.
If Bart set the Megaphones up in a circle and turned them all on then:
In real life, it would create feedback, just like when you put a microphone near a speaker. The feedback could continue indefinitely (until the batteries ran out).
In Simpsons physics, these megaphones are "magic" where each one multiplies whatever goes into it by a certain amount. Bart would create an infinitely loud sound (or it would stop growing once the megaphones get "blown apart" by their own shockwave as seen in the cartoon).
Similar to a crowd of people though. Being in a crowd doesn't increase your max volume but all together it can get loud. I doubt it would cracked even one window and this is the wrong arrangement for that but would be cool to see.

If we're thinking about it that way though, he'd be better off arranging them side by side and yelling into each one simultaneously.
It would still work, just not on the scale shown in the video. One speaker is loud, two speakers are louder. So it would just be like playing 50 speakers at the same time at max volume

The John Cena soundbite is actually really fitting since it's made to sound like it's being played at beyond your speakers' capabilities. I don't know if they've used some filter or just recorded a speaker that was clipping, but it's pretty funny that the megaphone scenario would probably sound a bit like that.

Perhaps not but I have done so in horror films. Jump scares tend to be loud and the louder it is, the scarier it will be for me. So if I anticipate a jump scare I will turn my volume down. That's the only time I've done it, though.

Megaphones don't simply mechanically amplify whatever is put in by a certain factor.
There's a speaker inside there making the noise, and there's a limit to how loud a given speaker can be. Doesn't matter how loud a signal you send to the speaker, it can't make noises louder than its limit.

Megaphones are directional, so I don't know if they're able to output a noise loud enough that their own microphone will pick it up and amplify it, creating feedback.
In the "chain of megaphones" scenario you would get something that might sound quite similar though. Megaphones aren't the exactly hi-fi equipment, so there's a lot of noise and crackling on the signal, even when you're not inputting any noise. This noise would be amplified successively by the other megaphones, adding noise, so Bart's setup would most likely just sound something like this at a really high volume.
If that's the case - that the noise alone ended up maxing out the megaphones -, you probably wouldn't hear much of a difference between the fly buzzing and Bart shouting.

In real life, it would create feedback, just like when you put a microphone near a speaker. The feedback could continue indefinitely (until the batteries ran out).
In Simpsons physics, these megaphones are "magic" where each one multiplies whatever goes into it by a certain amount. Bart would create an infinitely loud sound (or it would stop growing once the megaphones get "blown apart" by their own shockwave as seen in the cartoon).
