I posted some fan art i pulled off image search in response to a criticism of newgrounds art on twitter. Someone tagged the artist and he replied, and I said nice art bro and he said thanks.
Then a flood of retards came in โWHY DONT YOU CREDIT HIM YOURE A THEIFโ
2.2.1 had no ads either. That said, from the screenshots qbit looks pretty feature complete, in fact it looks like a clone of utorrent. So the real difference appears to be that it's open source and maintained, which is good. The Qt widgets are kinda ugly tho.
โOh goody, I sure want to download some BitTorrents rn. How about I use โThe Pirate Bayโ, which is quite possibly the most famous BitTorrent site, and without a VPN or any sort of thing that prevents my internet being tracked! This will be such a smart idea!โ
Is copying the product created by a giant soulless gaming corporation so you can play it the same as stealing art made by a person who actually created something?
It's already free to look at, unless it's paywalled in which case I guess leaking it is whatever.
Game devs are artists too. Games are made from a team of passionate, dedicated people who spend a ridiculous amount of time to create an interactive world. Just because theyโre a corporation on the outside doesnโt mean you should just rob them.
I don't think you're wrong but there are a lot of reasons to pirate games and while it doesn't give them more money it doesn't take it away. They might be checking it out to see if they even want to pay money for it, they might be using a cracked copy to bypass annoying DRM, or they might have already bought it and want another copy for whatever reason. I personally am just anti-paywall in general but if I like a game I will definitely shill it and probably buy it.
Imagine being so narcissistic you could believe any art you create is something you created. If I wrote something that stirred you, it's because many generations created a language with that capacity, and many others made you the person who could be moved by it.
I just see the numbers you don't. That's why people tend to think I'm creative. I'm not though, no one is. We're all just moving bits around, and wiggling them occasionally.
Not as much as we like to think, no. it's the culmination of influence, genetics, and opportunity. On our best day, we're never more creative than techno music.
So basically you are deconstructing things down to the point where we are all products of our environment, and every action a person takes is not of their own making. Rather, it is simply an effect of the universe unfolding in a mathematically logical manner. With this view of reality, the concept of "free will" becomes an impossibility. That said, we can conclude that not only did the artist NOT make the media that they believed they did, but everyone prior to them made nothing as well.
Now that we've reached this point, we can also say that nothing matters. So let's just let the artist have credit because it doesn't matter. ;)
Yeah, paying for good things is a great thing to do, you encourage the creation of more good things. Whether that be food, or luxury items like art or video games.
I've thought about the free will thing a lot, I don't think we have it but I think it's still a good idea not to fall into nihilism. My brain likes the happy chemicals, I'm going to keep doing stuff to produce more happy chemicals. Why not?
I agree wholly that nihilism is a fall. You can always take comfort in the fact that even if fate is immutable, you don't know where it's going, so you can still keep the illusion that something might matter.

This is an excellent smuggie. I have been planning on making a similar one for a while, but this captures the essence perfectly.

qbittorrent has built-in search function (you have to enable it though), you just type in what you want and it searches all the popular sites for it.
No need for checking out one site, and if it's not there the other site, etc.

That's why I specified 2.2.1. IIRC 3.0 is when they were bought by Bittorrent Inc. and started adding ads and all sorts of nasty shit to the client.

Every piece of art you have seen online has been pirated because you never paid to own it.
The issue with art-thieves is because they are profiting off the artist's work, pirates don't profit off of piracy.
