Humans canโt digest the skin of corn. So when you think you see a whole kernel of corn in you poo, jtโs really just the skin of the kernel filled with poo!
I feel like the makers of HungryMan intentionally have the fillers put a bunch of corn in the brownie section as a kind of "fuck you gonna do about it you lonely pathetic sack of shit? we all know you dont have the initiative to do anything about this, otherwise you wouldn't have a freezer full of HungryMan semi-food. eat your goddamn corn brownie and smile through the tears, loser."

Exactly and after you down the 1200+ calories and 300% of your daily sodium intake, you definitely wouldn't have any motivation to do anything about anything
I love how those things are always an absurd amount of calories but they're not filling at all most of the time and they taste like either chemicals or freezerburn. Like damn if I'm gonna use up that many calories for one meal I might as well spend the same amount of money at McDonalds.
Back when Iโd bought TV dinners I had no clue about calories or food health in general. But I do remember how unsatisfying the meals were. It was just something quick to eat. I basically rotated between this, spaghetti and fast food.
I hadnโt had one of these meals for years and decided to โtreatโ myself one day. It was boneless chicken that just tasted like water. No flavor at all. I thought, how the hell did I like this shit as a teenager?
Frozen food LPT: many grocery stores (in my part of America anyway) have a separate freezer section with the organic/vegan/"green" whatever food that is, on average, 20x better than the food in the main frozen section. There is a sweet spot here with meals that are made with real meats and cheeses that are labeled things like "made with organic ingredients" or "chicken raised without antibiotics" or "no artificial ingredients" (Im not advocating for any of these labels themselves, just that they tend to indicate higher quality and better tasting food in my experience) and I guarantee you will like the flavors in these meals better than the ones in those "other" freezer cases. Note: I am not a vegan, and not all the food in these cases is vegan or plant based or gluten free, but much of it is. I can understand why non-vegetarians would shy away from this section for what is more familiar, but spend some time to hunt around and it will be time well spent. You might even find that some of the vegan meals are the best. Source: I bring microwave lunches to work and I have tried allll of them
I actually work at a natural foods grocery store now and have tried several different frozen items. Theyโve all been fantastic. I love the Evol burritos. They can be a bit pricey but itโs well worth it.
I have eaten so many Evol meals over the years, I turn in the points and have gotten multiple Tshirts, water bottles, and other swag. I love the steak bowl (forgot the full title).
This makes me kinda sad as the frozen/instant/microwave food in Japan can actually be pretty good. Want dumpling soup? $2 for two hefty servings. Frozen udon or frozen soba, either kake or zaru (warm soup or cold dipping sauce), hell even pasta can be surprisingly good (cheese/carbonara tends to make good microwavable pasta). Microwavable curry? There's a ton of varieties, from mild enough (1/5 spice generic ones) to feed to somebody with a capsaicin allergy to spicy enough (Lee brand 30x) to make the unprepared beg for the sweet release of death, both going in and going out. Microwavable Japanese mochi rice with miso soup in a packet with a little tin of natto for the health-conscious, add protein as desired. There's pickled veggies, kimchi, and wakame seaweed for your long-term-storage veggie intake, add as desired to dishes.
The only problem? Sodium intake is even more of an issue in Japan, and the frozen section is no exception.
I love how in Japan gas station food is not only good, but really good. 7 11 in Japan is amazing, 7 11 in the US is just another crappy gas station with slurpees and old hot dogs.

Oh yes, and generally goes:
7-11: AMAZING coffee, my fiancee loves it! Also, they seem to have better cold packaged food.
Familymart: their fried chicken is better than KFC honestly, and for $1.20-1.60 per hefty boneless piece it's not a bad price either
Lawson: their boneless fried chicken is also great, but they specialize in crunchy fried chicken (they're slightly pricier though)
Yeah I always see people trash talking gas station food, but the chain around me is generally loved by everyone. There's definitely varying quality between locations though, which I imagine is true with any chain anything.
We have good frozen food in the US as well. Stuff like Hungry Man and Banquet are shit, but Devour makes really good meals (especially the buffalo mac and cheese). Safeway has some good ones too; I was straight-up addicted to their chicken methi malai when they still had it. Saffron Road, Deep Indian Kitchen, Chili's, Amy's, and Evol are all good options as well.
Its really weird now like now were all working from home Ive been getting ready meals at my basket for lunch. Then I realized recently the Lawson next to my house has much better ready meals. Why the fuck is the conbini out doing the supermarker
Gotta say though I dont even find the hottest Lee brand spicy. Being a complete chilihead in this place is a pain you order the absolute hittest thing possible and its mild. The super hot nuggets theyre doing at mcds right now taste no different to ordinary to me. Only place that is ridiculously hot is ๅฐ็ใฎๆ ใ ้บบ in ookubo. My days the hottest one of that is fucking killer
Ooooh you HAVE to try the soup at soul food Bangkok close by Ikejiri-Ohashi station. I love spicy food and, while Lee 30x is pretty damn spicy to me, that soup was so intolerably spicy that I had two small spoonfuls and nearly fainted. I ended up saving the soup and used it as seasoning for other soups to make them spicy: one spoonful was generally good enough.

Ok, get a spoon, a knife, and either a giant bowl or a pot. Acquire (1) a bag of baking apples like maybe some Empire, Cortland, or some other kind that seems kinda like a block of foam, (2) a bag of frozen cranberries, and (3) a hefty thing of sugar.
Peel (or just wash) then cut up a few apples into big-to-medium squarish chunks, toss out the bits with seeds and stems, and put the apple chunks in a pot (stove) or large bowl (microwave). Rinse some cranberries and throw them in there.
Start cooking on high heat. After a couple minutes, put a few generous spoons of sugar in there and give it a good stir. Like, a scraping the bottom, getting it all turned over good stir. Cook for a few more minutes. Stir it every minute or so and toss in a few spoons more sugar. Eventually the apples start 'boiling' and turning to applesauce, and the cranberries break down a bit, stuff starts getting reddish... Any time, you can take a tiny bit out on a cool spoon and blow on it to cool it down, then taste. Don't let it sit too long on high heat because the stuff on the bottom can burn and that's no bueno.
Congrats. You made your own chunky cranberry apple sauce dessert.

Well... uh... I kinda just wing it on the ratios of everything until it looks and tastes good. You definitely don't need a lot of apples or cranberries unless you're trying to supply a large party. Maybe like 4-6 large apples and a big handful of cranberries? You do need more sugar than you'd think because cranberries are bitter.
Fun fact: If there's a corn in your hungry man brownie it's probably because a warehouse worker didn't give a fuck about the "this side up" label on the case.

The ones here very rarely have corn in the brownies. It all depends on if the cold chain is broken. If the brownie had a chance to melt, corn can get stuck in it. Means your grocer or supplier aren't keeping the temperatures good
Well, you are getting a pound of pre cooked, just heat up food for about $3. Thatโs probably the cheapest meal you can find for the main, side and desert they give you.

It is! Every single kids TV dinner you could get when I was younger had this exact same combo and it was one of my favorite things! The thing is, I would never mix the corn in myself.... it had to be a fun surprise hahaha
I have always been a sucker for those Kid Cuisine frozen meals, even as an adult. My favorite is the chicken nugget meal with corn, chocolate pudding, and Mac & cheese. Corn and some macaroni noodles oftentimes make their way into the pudding compartment and I fucking love that combo so much that I actually started dipping my nugs into the pudding, as well as intentionally mixing some corn and mac into the pudding.
I also dip my Wendy's nugs into my chocolate frosty.
I think this is easily avoidable when it comes frozen. He may have deserved this lol

Frozen meal makers bank on that, they could improve production to keep stuff from mixing but dont have to. Their motto is "you're gonna eat it, and you're gonna like it you fuckin animal."
I rather like the Healthy Choice brand. Decent options, not absolutely terrible calorie-wise and whatnot. Not sure how the cost compares to other brands.

I've never seen a Healthy Choice meal over 400 calories sadly. They just aren't enough to feed a healthy, grown adult. And they're expensive.
I'd call myself a healthy grown adult lol but yeah, they don't make you -full- but that's not really what I go for. A feeling of fullness often actually means you ate too much, in my opinion. But I get where you're comin' from.

Feeling full means I've eaten barely enough, I try not to stop until I'm stuffed lol. I can barely keep the pounds on as it is.
add a glass of milk, a piece of fruit, and eat the 'meal' with a biscuit or dinner roll or a slice of buttered bread (soak up some of that extra 'sauce' that's always seems to be in them). that'll turn that quick so-called 'meal' in to an actual dinner.

Also, I was on the phone and threw it in the microwave and didnโt even remove the plastic like I was suppose too.
Hungry Man is associated with the lowest point in my life. I was out of work, had an abusive wife and a newborn baby I couldn't afford to get diapers for. When we went grocery shopping, we'd just get these instant meals instead of real food.
I'm in a much better place in life and the abusive wife is now abusing a different guy, and they nearly have a newborn too. But hey, it's not my problem anymore! And I sure as hell don't eat these fucking things anymore. No shade if you do, but damn, I won't ever again.
There's a couple of them I kind of like, but it's definitely a guilty pleasure meal. I usually do them in the oven, I feel like they turn out way better that way than in the microwave. The spicy chicken patties and the thanksgiving turkey are my go-tos, although the thanksgiving one is conceptually very sad.

Turkey is my fave, but those spicy chicken patties might be my favorite individual component. The cranberry shit is just SO much better than the brownie, they should phase the brownie out and just do more cobblers and other stuff with wet fruit.
As someone who eats one of these boneless fried chicken hungry mans every couple of weeks, I've never once seen one even close to this bad. Usually the brownie has at most 5 or so corn pieces on top - often none at all!
I eat that exact hungry man, theirs always atleast 1 corn in the brownie no matter what. And half the time the brownie reaches out unto the chicken and ruins the taste of it. You get what you get though

I love these dinners but I hate the brownies. They have too much of a bitter chocolate taste for my liking. They go straight in the trash so I would be more upset about the wasted corn.

I worked at a retail store, independent but similar to Spencers but larger. I had a customer say they couldnt flush the toilet; if course Im the victim of this legendary turd. Thing looked like a thick corn in the cob, half the size of pro football but mimicked a corn on the cob except brown in between each kernel. Ill never forget it.
Dude there are so much better TV dinners out there. Hungry man is bottom tier. Banquet Mega Bowls are where it's at. Devour are pretty good too. If you get Hungry Man, you are doing yourself a grave disservice.
Shout out to all the stockers at my local Walmart. The men and women who are in apparently no hurry at all to get these cold items into their freezers. It'll get done when it gets done.
Which is why all the corn is the wrong compartment. They bring cases of these things, and by the time the last on goes in, it's nearly thawed out completely.
I had one once that I thought had been a production line mistake. I opened it, and instead of corn and a "brownie," it was corn & more corn. Whatever. The brownie isn't even that good. So I zap it, and I tell you folks this thing looked like something out of Lovecraft! More than half the corn had tumbled into the brownie mix, and it looked alive! Nearly ruined my appetite altogether.

Frozen food LPT: many grocery stores (in my part of America anyway) have a separate freezer section with the organic/vegan/"green" whatever food that is, on average, 20x better than the food in the main frozen section. There is a sweet spot here with meals that are made with real meats and cheeses that are labeled things like "made with organic ingredients" or "chicken raised without antibiotics" or "no artificial ingredients" (Im not advocating for any of these labels themselves, just that they tend to indicate higher quality and better tasting food in my experience) and I guarantee you will like the flavors in these meals better than the ones in those "other" freezer cases. Note: I am not a vegan, and not all the food in these cases is vegan or plant based or gluten free, but much of it is. I can understand why non-vegetarians would shy away from this section for what is more familiar, but spend some time to hunt around and it will be time well spent. You might even find that some of the vegan meals are the best. Source: I bring microwave lunches to work and I have tried allll of them

This makes me kinda sad as the frozen/instant/microwave food in Japan can actually be pretty good. Want dumpling soup? $2 for two hefty servings. Frozen udon or frozen soba, either kake or zaru (warm soup or cold dipping sauce), hell even pasta can be surprisingly good (cheese/carbonara tends to make good microwavable pasta). Microwavable curry? There's a ton of varieties, from mild enough (1/5 spice generic ones) to feed to somebody with a capsaicin allergy to spicy enough (Lee brand 30x) to make the unprepared beg for the sweet release of death, both going in and going out. Microwavable Japanese mochi rice with miso soup in a packet with a little tin of natto for the health-conscious, add protein as desired. There's pickled veggies, kimchi, and wakame seaweed for your long-term-storage veggie intake, add as desired to dishes.
The only problem? Sodium intake is even more of an issue in Japan, and the frozen section is no exception.

Oh yes, and generally goes: 7-11: AMAZING coffee, my fiancee loves it! Also, they seem to have better cold packaged food. Familymart: their fried chicken is better than KFC honestly, and for $1.20-1.60 per hefty boneless piece it's not a bad price either Lawson: their boneless fried chicken is also great, but they specialize in crunchy fried chicken (they're slightly pricier though)

We have good frozen food in the US as well. Stuff like Hungry Man and Banquet are shit, but Devour makes really good meals (especially the buffalo mac and cheese). Safeway has some good ones too; I was straight-up addicted to their chicken methi malai when they still had it. Saffron Road, Deep Indian Kitchen, Chili's, Amy's, and Evol are all good options as well.

Ooooh you HAVE to try the soup at soul food Bangkok close by Ikejiri-Ohashi station. I love spicy food and, while Lee 30x is pretty damn spicy to me, that soup was so intolerably spicy that I had two small spoonfuls and nearly fainted. I ended up saving the soup and used it as seasoning for other soups to make them spicy: one spoonful was generally good enough.

Ok, get a spoon, a knife, and either a giant bowl or a pot. Acquire (1) a bag of baking apples like maybe some Empire, Cortland, or some other kind that seems kinda like a block of foam, (2) a bag of frozen cranberries, and (3) a hefty thing of sugar.
Peel (or just wash) then cut up a few apples into big-to-medium squarish chunks, toss out the bits with seeds and stems, and put the apple chunks in a pot (stove) or large bowl (microwave). Rinse some cranberries and throw them in there.
Start cooking on high heat. After a couple minutes, put a few generous spoons of sugar in there and give it a good stir. Like, a scraping the bottom, getting it all turned over good stir. Cook for a few more minutes. Stir it every minute or so and toss in a few spoons more sugar. Eventually the apples start 'boiling' and turning to applesauce, and the cranberries break down a bit, stuff starts getting reddish... Any time, you can take a tiny bit out on a cool spoon and blow on it to cool it down, then taste. Don't let it sit too long on high heat because the stuff on the bottom can burn and that's no bueno.

Maybe like 4-6 large apples and a big handful of cranberries? You do need more sugar than you'd think because cranberries are bitter.

The ones here very rarely have corn in the brownies. It all depends on if the cold chain is broken. If the brownie had a chance to melt, corn can get stuck in it. Means your grocer or supplier aren't keeping the temperatures good

I have always been a sucker for those Kid Cuisine frozen meals, even as an adult. My favorite is the chicken nugget meal with corn, chocolate pudding, and Mac & cheese. Corn and some macaroni noodles oftentimes make their way into the pudding compartment and I fucking love that combo so much that I actually started dipping my nugs into the pudding, as well as intentionally mixing some corn and mac into the pudding.
I also dip my Wendy's nugs into my chocolate frosty.

Hungry Man is associated with the lowest point in my life. I was out of work, had an abusive wife and a newborn baby I couldn't afford to get diapers for. When we went grocery shopping, we'd just get these instant meals instead of real food.
I'm in a much better place in life and the abusive wife is now abusing a different guy, and they nearly have a newborn too. But hey, it's not my problem anymore! And I sure as hell don't eat these fucking things anymore. No shade if you do, but damn, I won't ever again.

There's a couple of them I kind of like, but it's definitely a guilty pleasure meal. I usually do them in the oven, I feel like they turn out way better that way than in the microwave. The spicy chicken patties and the thanksgiving turkey are my go-tos, although the thanksgiving one is conceptually very sad.

Shout out to all the stockers at my local Walmart. The men and women who are in apparently no hurry at all to get these cold items into their freezers. It'll get done when it gets done.
Which is why all the corn is the wrong compartment. They bring cases of these things, and by the time the last on goes in, it's nearly thawed out completely.
I had one once that I thought had been a production line mistake. I opened it, and instead of corn and a "brownie," it was corn & more corn. Whatever. The brownie isn't even that good. So I zap it, and I tell you folks this thing looked like something out of Lovecraft! More than half the corn had tumbled into the brownie mix, and it looked alive! Nearly ruined my appetite altogether.
