I code in vim. I have no idea what IDE all the cool kids are using these days for the kind of programming I do; vim works, it's powerful, and I haven't had any reason to explore newer alternatives.

When I was in college, I interviewed for a co-op position. The interview was going well, the guy was getting visibly excited about the prospect of working together, until he asked me "Do you know about Hungarian notation?"

I answered no, but I'm sure I could pick it up. From that point, he just clammed up, and from then I knew it was over.

When I got home, I looked up what Hungarian notation was, as it was clearly a Big Deal and Very Important... It's just a naming convention for your variables/functions. I'm still bitter about this 15 years later...
