Hello, I have Pokemon Go on my phone, which unlocked and not attached to a network, thus I have no mobile data and am only able to play in areas where I have Wi-Fi.
Even when I'm disconnected from the Internet, the GPS signal stays on. I was wondering if it's possible for me to walk some distance without Internet connection and still accumulate distance on my eggs.
I tried testing it myself, but it seemed inconsistent. If anyone has a real answer, I'd appreciate it!

^ This is the correct answer. It won't be able to determine your location or send transmissions to the server to calculate how much you have left to hatch the egg without the internet.

Thanks. I was thinking theoretically it could remember your location history client-side and send it later, but I guess that would be pretty exploitable.
Oh, well.
