My least favorite is Quilladin. He’s not cute, cool, powerful, or useful in battle. He’s stupid, fat, and ugly. He looks even uglier because of his eyes and nose. Chespin is kinda cute and unique, chesnaught is naught really okay with me, but Quilladin is on a whole other level of terrible. Also, I don’t really get why people hate delphox

Jynx. Nothing to do with the controversy, I always hated it. I rarely like human-like Pokemon, and IMHO she's the worst design of the lot.

I have problem with this too. I think it would be tolerable without lipstick. I have same issue with Gothita line. Pokemon don't need make up

Really roasting Qualladin but I don't like it either.
For me, it's gotta be Raticate. It's been in every gen and it's just a gross fat rat. I don't get why Game Freak is so obsessed with it. It's on every island in Alola.

It's also early game in every game except for Unova, but only because of the "Only new Pokemon" thing.

Lucario. I remember being really disappointed when they first revealed him, I was so excited for gen 4 and he looked so dumb. Not to mention that as one of the "iconic" gen four pokemon Nintendo pushed, he showed up everywhere (and still continued to) and I was so sick of it. What's Lucario even supposed to be anyway, a warrior monk dog with ESP? No joke, when they first showed a picture of him I thought he was supposed to be a clown or something (would've fit in with those guys who gave you the watch)
SonicsRunningShoes · 1 points · Posted at 15:09:46 on July 25, 2019 · (Permalink)
pretty sure hes suppose to be somewhat like an Anubis.
Im_regretting_this · 1 points · Posted at 15:28:31 on July 25, 2019 · (Permalink)
I can see that designwise, though I'm not sure how that translates to steel/fighting or what his name is supposed to be similar to
SonicsRunningShoes · 1 points · Posted at 15:30:12 on July 25, 2019 · (Permalink)
well you said you thought he was a clown lol Which is why I said the Anubis thing. I honestly don't know why steel either. Fighting I can see but not too sure about the steel typing.

Ghost or psychic would've made much more sense

I agree. Or even Ground I think would work too.

Lucario is steel type because they have the metal spikes on themselves and the syllables in their name is orichalcum backwards. But other than that, they should fighting fairy/psychic because of their aura abilities. Lucario is a fighting type because they follow an Egyptian fighting style, so they get to keep fighting type
🎙️ z8oh8xyr · 0 points · Posted at 19:52:12 on July 25, 2019 · (Permalink)
Lucario is my fourth favorite Pokémon. They are supposed to be a jackal/anubis. They do not have ESP, they have aura, which lets them read minds and feelings. They were an iconic gen 4 Pokémon because they are loved by pretty much everybody and is memorable. You’re not supposed to hate lucario.
Im_regretting_this · 3 points · Posted at 22:28:23 on July 25, 2019 · (Permalink)
I can hate whatever I want? And I know I'm not the only one who doesn't like Lucario. He wasn't iconic because everyone loved him, he was iconic because gamefreak pushed him hard to be an icon. Plenty of people ended up loving him, but I don't think they would've had he not been pushed so hard.

Ok I usually respect people’s opinions on individual Pokémon, but if anyone tells me they like Pelipper in person I will taser them.
Crap, unoriginal design
Usually has drizzle, just to make encounters that extra 2 seconds longer
If I wanted a water/flying type I’d have a Gyarados
Appears in damn near every game meaning there is no escape (even in Sword and Shield I mean seriously you ditch hundreds of beloved Pokémon just to make a giant Pelipper)
Surf encounter, meaning they are frequent and a nuisance
It and Wingull can be caught on what feels like half the routes of the average Pokémon region
Pelipper sounds really stupid when saying it
I rest my case.

Ice cream cones.
I have nothing against their looks or anything, it's their origins, their reason for being. A lot of Pokémon are based off of animals, and a very large portion and their evolutions come from mythology. There's a purpose behind them. A reason for them to exist.
You can say Geodude all you want, but Geodude could resemble a mythological creature. Even if he doesn't, he can blend in with his surroundings. It's a defense mechanism. Voltorb and Electrode? They resemble an object thousands of years old that was specificallt designed to capture Pokémon. Perhaps they were the original inspirations for the shape and colours, or maybe ball technology was invented by watching or studying them (they are electric, after all).
There is no purpose to an ice cream cone. There is no mythological tie-in. Its evolution is pointless. You can't say "but Pokémon have taken the shape of artificial objects before" because they haven't. Not like this. A keychain? That's actually very plausible for a dozen different reasons among faeries, not to mention magical significance behind keys themselves (and by extension, doors). There are a lot of human objects that are perfectly plausible for a Pokémon and an ice cream cone simply isn't one of them. I mean come on, it's literal food. That's not a defense mechanism, it's a suicide attempt.
I don't like the Gurdurr line either, but nowhere near as bad. It's a Pokémon who picked up some metal. Perfectly understandable and it makes a lot of sense. With human construction, Pokémon would surely be involved. But they treat it like the beam is part of the Pokémon, which doesn't make much sense, and even if it was, we have the Machop line.

Toss up between Simisear and Ambipom.
Simisear because every single body part it has is ugly. And I mean everything; the face, the ears, the hands, the legs, the belly, you name it. Combine that with almost no reason to use it in battle and you have the perfect abomination.
And then there's Ambipom. Aipom is one of my favorite pokemon, and Ambipom just takes every aspect of Aipom's design and makes it afwul. But at least it's kinda fun to use it competitively, so that sorta keeps it from being my absolute least favorite.

Stunfisk. I don't know why I hate it. All I remember is that as soon as I caught one, I wonder traded it away immediately. I've never done this with any Pokémon I caught, not even Pokémon like Trubbish, which is a close second. It could be because I don't like its look.

Though I have a hard time hating any pokemon, one exception is Bronzor, bloody thing's a pain in the ass to fight in the Gen 4 games if you don't have a Ghost or Fire-type that isn't from the Chimchar line.

Patrat/Watchog.
Also many human-like pokemon are just ... no. Like Tsareena, Florges, Gothitelle, Jynx, Mr.Mime... Even Sawk and Thror to some degree. For some reason Gardevoir line is the only one that I think they did well as it is not too humanlike + it doesn't have goddamn lipstick.

Florges. I feel like this Pokémon is sooo lazy. Like a flower with a face and arms. Hmmm. Where have I seen that before? Also, no offense to anyone, but I hate the fairy type with a passion. That doesn’t help with Florges either.

The entire Klink line... specifically, Klang... I find it really unnecessary & uninspired across all categories of design, naming & typing.
I find other commonly disliked Pokemon & the ones listed in this thread so far, at least bring something different to the table, as useless or "ugly" as they may be - they inspire SOME sort of emotive response - Klink does not.
I'd follow that up with Vanillish, as I feel it's super unnecessary as a middle evo. .. it's just "filler".
I feel like with Klang & Vanillish, they just didn't care enough to consider "purpose" or the need to exist & just settled for dex filler. Their lines would've worked just fine without them.
Blooblod · 1 points · Posted at 13:21:42 on July 25, 2019 · (Permalink)
Aesthetically, the entire Tympole line.
The Pokemon I wish had a different design the most is Rhyperior though. It's nowhere close to my least favorite design but I still find it really ugly and way too bulky--and prior to gen IV Rhydon was one of my favorite mons and a staple on all of my Kanto teams but now I never really use it just because I don't care for Rhyperior's appearance.
🎙️ z8oh8xyr · 1 points · Posted at 19:44:49 on July 25, 2019 · (Permalink)
The whole tympole line is kinda zucc. Tympole looks odd, palpitoad doesn’t have arms and is a cube with a face, and seismetoad looks like its high on some drug

I feel like, if I took the time, I'd actually have a big list of Pokémon designs I absolutely abhor. But just going off the top of my head, I HATE most of the Gen 4 evolutions of preexisting Pokémon. Like, 90% of those evolutions designs are so chunky, clunky, and fat, and I hate it so much. Below is a list of the Gen 4 evolutions that I hate for the reasons I mentioned.
Magnezone - fat, clunky, overdesigned
Lickylicky - literally just obese
Rhyperior - fat and overdesigned
Tangrowth - fat
Magmortar - fat and clunky
Honchcrow - literally so fat
Mamoswine - fat and ugly
Togekiss - WHY they took such cute and awesome designs and turned it into an obese airplane
Dusknoir - morbidly obese ghost
