We haven't seen the full extent of "Full Metal Body"/"Shadow Shield" yet. I wouldn't be surprised if (for some bullshit reason) it gave resistance to Fire/Ghost respectively.

Yeah like one of the big problems with pokemon is that the main story can be too easy, not that it's too easy to find your way around. If the handholding revolves around giving you directions or reminding you where you left off that's fine.

I started noticing things shifting toward this mindset with Black and White, the first "system reset" for a younger demographic. Things that started out as nice conveniences (healers on longer routes and in tough caves) quickly became engulfed in things to prevent kids from feeling bad if the game was too hard. By the time we got to X and Y, the main story was basically a joke. There has never been a more linear Pokémon game. There's never any question as to where to go or what to do. Practically every route has someone who will heal you, if not your "rivals" who basically follow you around the whole game to heal you and give you stuff. My only hope is that the new games will have a challenge mode available from the start, or at least a choice between "Easy" and "Normal"

The funny thing there... Pokémon is baby's first RPG.

In what pokemon games outside of competition aren't the games "baby's first pokemon." All the people you fight up until the 5th or 6th gym use 1/3rd of the pokemon you do and exp share off the bat means all your pokemon are a higher level than anything you face. I enjoy the games, but short of self imposed challenges the game are boringly easy.

It looks to me like they're two separate entities. If you look at about 1:23 in, there's a picture of an "empty" pokedex, which looks different once the Rotom goes into it. It's also just something that Rotom does, right? It doesn't transform into electronic things, it possesses them.

No way fainting would effect it, but I doubt we can even battle it.

But the sun isn't burning. It's not actually "on Fire." It's nuclear fusion that causes the reaction and the glow. Hydrogen > Helium > etc... and eventually Iron is a component of many supergiant stars, albeit close to death because that's about as heavy as the elements get in a star (if I recall correctly)...

It's incredibly odd for the Sun-based Pokemon to be a Steel type. The sun is a star, and as far as their cores go, once their nuclear fusion has gone down the periodic table to start creating iron, it's essentially dead. Iron's hard to fuse into the next element, and the star puts so much energy into trying to do so it basically accelerates its own demise.

Well Primal Groudon's only weakness is ground (since its ability takes care of water) which makes just as much sense.

It should have had a Flash Fire ability or something to be immune to fire.

The Sun isn't heavy enough to fuse iron at any stage. That's for the bigger, brighter and shorter lived blue giants at their end stages.

Actually if the sun had any iron in it it would explode shortly after. Right now our sun is still "healthy" with fusing hydrogen into helium and none of the heavier elemental fusing shenanigans are going on

The heaviest element is iron, the heaviest material (by weight) is Hydrogen. At least in our star.

Literally the hardest part of pokemon is just remembering the type effectiveness matchups and the typing of each pokemon.

It might be the dex that has a voice feature itself and it's just being POWERED by the Rotom.

I dont think the rotom itself is capable of talking. It's just using the the dex as a way of communicating to you. Kind of like how the alien from Independence Day talks through the scientist.

And in terms of pokemon talking to you... the ghost of Marowak in the first game clearly says "Begone Inrtuders" before you fight her... although i'm not sure if that counts or not.

There's also a bird in the the Copycat's house that repeats what is said to it. Also Chatot can do that.

Also there's a Zoroark in the gen V games that is disguised as a human and speaks with the player.

You could argue that the Clefairy that Bill was merged with in RB was a talking pokemon.
