I personally root for mega pikachu. Give ash ' s pikachu and evolution it could turn back from, and give people the option to keep pikachu and not raichu.
I think the point is that with pikachu getting all the spot light and gimmicks, raichu should get a mega to give people a reason to use raichu instead, and to acknowledge that it isn't forgotten for its younger sibling

I think it'd be a neat idea to make a special mega for plusle and minun team battles. You need both together and then mega them to get Multiplun. But yeah, Pachirisu, Dedenne, and Emolga too, could all use at least one more evolution.
If Mega Rayquaza is a thing, then I think the world could handle a Pachirisu evolution. Evolite would be crazy fun, though. Granted I have noooo clue on Pokemon balance! xD

Fairly Odd Parents and Spongebob get quoted on a daily, if not hourly, basis in here. Spongebob generally has easier to use quotes and references so it gets referenced more often, but both are quoted plenty nonetheless.
So I, personally, don't see much of a difference recently.
Why can't we have cross type gyms? Say, a Fighting/Fairy gym, where the 'mon have to be Fairy, Fighting, or Fairy/Fighting. (or Fighting/Fairy, I suppose.)
Not everyone follows the game's development over the years.
Edit: My point is that not everyone that's played Pokemon still plays Pokemon. I've had friends who stopped playing years ago. Heck, I explained that Fairy was a thing now to a friend just a few weeks ago.
Can't this subreddit show up on /r/all? Wouldn't surprise me if they saw the link and thought "Why not?" and clicked it. They then got confused as to what Fairy-type is, maybe because they haven't touched Gen 6, and then asked a simple question.
