Fun fact: The Stinky Cheese Man is the last time I remember crying in school. The entire first grade class or whatever read it and was doing a project on it. One of the teachers pretended to be him on the intercom system and all of the kids had to run around the school to catch him.
I freaked the fuck out. There is a cheese golem running around the school and everyone else is okay with it.
Yep, I remember the librarian reading this to my class in kindergarten. I also remember a version set in the southwest with a coyote and...I wanna say armadillos maybe? Perhaps I'm confusing it with another book, though.
Yeah! I remember that book good and well. Always was my favorite since I had no idea what anything meant when I was little. Things like the pig using a pneumatic drill and the wolves building iron padlocked shelters confused the hell out of me back then.
These were my two favorite books as a kid. I always wanted to check out The Stinky Cheese Man from my teacher, but it was always checked out. Other people were always getting it. It took forever until I was able to finally get my hands on it.
True Story of the 3 Little Pigs was the same thing. I happened to see a hardcover version of it at a bookstore in the mall once and I bought it immediately. It was so crazy reading it again after all those years. It was awesome.

God, every time I see books from my childhood on here I want to run back to elementary school and live in the library, much like I did when I was in elementary school.
You may want to read it first then decide. Not saying it isn't suitable for any age, but rather that it takes well established childhood stories and puts a twist on them. I think it is better to know that classic then get a good laugh out of the parody.
Fair enough, I'll read it myself first. We have a big storybook with all the classics that we go through, so she's used to the stories, but I hear what you're saying. Thanks for the tip.
I remember reading the true little pigs story as a kid and feeling betrayed and lied to, I believed it as fact at the time that the entire story I knew was a fake, lol
The Stinky Cheese Man! That reminds me of another book I could never find since I first lost it years ago. It had a story about a man (Probably with a ridiculously long name) who mistook his wife for a hat, and another about a kid who lived in a country so small you could walk across it holding your breath. Can anyone find it?
Wow, thank you! I looked up every story I could remember from the book but I just remembered the wife/hat story as I was writing this just now. You're the best.
These 2 books were the most highly coveted books in the library when I was in the 4th grade. It was a race among all of us to see who could get it checked out!
