Ah ! Reminds me of 4th grade. ..I liked that sarcastic voice over character what would reply 'nooo....' And 'Ah!' whenever bill would have a fun fact or ask a trivia question.
one day my science teacher asked the class "how much saliva does a human make in one day?" little did he know that I had watched the same episode of bill nye the night before. that was were had got some of his material from.
I rasied my hand confidently and said " 1 litre"
he looked at me dead in the eye. smiled. and said "....yes"
that was a good day.

We had a teacher in school named Mr. Kilgore. We used to sing over the theme song with "Kilgore the Science Whore" replacing "Bill Nye the Science Guy." It was always entertaining.
He just gave a lecture at my university, it was awesome. He is just as cool in person giving a lecture as he was on the show. His catch phrases of the night: "change the world!", "dude, are you high?", and "quit bitching Milwaukee, it's colder on Mars."

disprove Christianity
Not quite. He has fought for evolution as opposed to creationism, not atheism as opposed to theism. There is a world of difference. He's agnostic anyway. He's even made it a point to constantly reiterate that hundreds of millions of Christians around the world accept evolution.
Thank you for making this distinction for the other person. People seem to always lump all Christians with the young earth creationists. In Catholicism, by far the largest denomination of Christianity, we believe in theistic evolution (though people are certainly free to not believe this with the Church). We teach the same curriculum of evolutionary theory as part of the science curriculum in private Catholic school as that which is taught in public school and other non-religious private schools.
Fundamentalist Christianity does not represent the whole of what Christians believe, and that ignorance is worse than most I see on reddit.
