These were a part of my childhood. My dad got me a subscription and every other weekend I came to visit (divorce) there usually was an issue. Even when they recirculated I loved reading them. Now I wonder if he has them stored somewhere...

The best part is that when they say they include "scientifically accurate illustrations", they are showing an outdated illustration of a T-rex, that is no longer scientifically accurate!
I remember getting a hold of the telephone while my babysitter was doing something else around the house. Unfortunately, I didn't know any of the required information to get them sent to me!
I'm a little let down thinking back to this..

Oh my god, I freaking loved these. I think there was something else too, something slightly different. I remember me and a friend had huge binders of animal fliers. I think they were a page or so each and they had the descriptions of the animals and pictures and things. I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure they were different than Zoo Books. But, anyways, I had TONS of them in a binder and would look through them constantly. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

When I was a kid I swore to myself that when I was old enough to call I would order Zoobooks. Sadly, 18 came and went and I never did.

They came in hardcover? shiiieeetttt. I would probably pay more than I'd like to admit for the entire collection in hardcover.

I had these for years. My parents didn't have a ton of money but they had things like this for me.

I just remember intense disappointment in finding out that the giraffe issue only had 26 pages of giraffe information.
Dazureus ยท 4 points ยท Posted at 04:16:45 on October 7, 2013 ยท (Permalink)
I had the elephant issue. I think it was free since it's the only one I had. Read that thing until the staples tore out.

They still print them and play the commercials with some regularity.
Source: I'm unemployed and watch cartoon network during the day.
