The handle was actually pretty crappy on the few that I owned. It would regularly split in half, because it was designed so poorly I'm guessing. Either way, my memories of this toy consist mostly of me getting yelled at by my parents for leaving oily stains on walls, picking up hairs and dirt, and feeling annoyed that the handle was useless.

So, back in elementary we had something similar but they were little balls that looked like soccer balls but were sticky. Well one of my friends threw it up on the ceiling on the main room and it got stuck up there. Well through my entire time at that school it was there and I think it's still there now. Talk about sticky.

It's basically the same thing; there's just a peg inside that goes through the hole. Once the handle breaks, it's just like any other sticky hand.

At my elementary school we used to throw these up and get them stuck on the cafeteria ceiling. There were probably dozens of sticky hands up there, and they never fell down during my 6 years.

Not that I know of. It was the kind of ceiling that was made out of those styrofoam tiles that you can push up though. Maybe that had something to do with them sticking for such a long time.

That never worked for me. One wash and they never stuck again. Wacky wall walkers revived nicely though.

The trick is to spray them with windex then wipe them down. It'd make the rubber tacky again.

Oh my, my brother & I had one of those ball shaped ones. We got it stuck to my Pap's ceiling and it left a stain there for years because we didn't tell anyone.

The stain was only covered when they painted the living room years later.

I was just talking about these today with my aunt. She is currently in the hospital and asked me if I would bring her some silly putty so she has something to do with her hands to keep her occupied since she can't smoke. I brought up how she used to buy my sticky hands all the time an how they'd be disgusting after 5 minutes of me playing with them.

Back in the day we used to steal those things from the mall then use them to steal stuff from closed stores.

We had long hair and one time me and my friend got in to a good fight and we both managed to get the damned things stuck in each other's hair.

I always use to dream about being spiderman with one of these! One day I begged my parents to buy me two, as soon as we got home I got on top of the couch.
