I don't how much this will warm your cockles but I work at a daycare in th summer for kids up to 4. That book is always on the shelf. I have to read it often. They still love it. Thought you should know that the new generations are coming up with this book as well.

I didn't know about it until my almost six year old son was given a copy as a gift a few years ago. We read it so many times that I had it memorized for a while. I'm a little saddened that it's been around that long and I had no idea.
