This is loosely based on NL's anecdote about Ryuka catching a fly and Tomo not having a predatory bone in his body. I like to imagine Tomo's idea of "hunting" is just aggressively loitering around his food dish, lol
The surgery part? Me neither, and I have no clue what it would even entail or if it would be applicable to me. Been walking like that since I was a kid, and I'm pretty sure it's for neurological reasons (I have autism). My parents never bothered doing anything about it and at this point it barely effects me because I only toe-walk when I'm not wearing any shoes (i.e. at home). I'm a guy but it has crossed my mind that I would probably be innately good at walking in heels which is pretty funny to me. Will probably try it one day.
I know some kids who walk that way end up fucking up their tendons - they end up shortened and causing them a lot of pain. May be what the surgery was fixing.
I could see that, but what I don't understand is how that would stop them from walking like that. Seems you'd have to make a conscious effort to stop it, no?
I know anyone who has had or known a cat would probably find this relatable- and I had a lot of fun making it, so I'd love to share it- but I don't know if it'd be kosher sharing with a wider audience since it uses a specific name... do you think NL would feel weirded out by this being shared on reddit more broadly?

Yeah, I know, I'm really bad about that- especially when I'm making cartoons of very specific references on a niche subreddit like this. I totally get that signatures are generally used in an effort to protect your body of work, but it always makes me feel funny to sign it, like I'm trying to elevate my silly scribbling and give it some measure of significance before I inevitably succumb to entropy... like I'm just leaving behind another hand painting in a cave in Lascaux.
That being said, I did slap one of those bad boys onto the version of this cartoon I just shared on r/comics, lol
