My golfer buddy claimed to score a birdie, but I told him that if he checked the rule book page 37 paragraph 4 subsection 3 that hole clearly should have been defined as a par 3. Why can't golfers follow their own rules?

We know the rule book better than golfers. That's why we're nongolfers.

It's like they think they can just omit whatever subsections they want to improve their game while pushing other subsections on everyone else. Absolutely ridiculous, I can't believe the government has yet to step in and regulate the rules of golfing.

Not only that, but there is a slight contradiction between that rule and the one list on page 56 paragraph 2 subsection 4. Clearly Golf should not exist.

Personally I think people ought to just keep golfing to themselves, it's utterly pretentious when they try to push it on other people, your golf club is like your penis, it's nice to have and be proud of but you shouldn't show it off in public, and especially not shove it down the throats of your kids.

The problem with the rule book is it was made at a time when only white, heterosexual males were on the course swinging wooden shafts. Since the increase of women, and european men, plus the implementation of graphite and steel shafts, that rule book has become almost obsolete (save for some golf fundamentalists who swear by it).

Golfers like to cherry pick things out of their rule book that benefit their scores. If you try to call them on it, they'll usually just get angry and tell you that rule was written metaphorically.

That's why the only people who have read the rulebook are now nongolfers. The hundreds of contradictions between tournament play, tee-offs and mini golf are enough to convince any rational person that Golf was invented to siphon money and keep the population preoccupied so that they don't rise up against the Golfocratic government.

Didn't realize the true nature of this sub and thought that this was some asshole really doing this, what an asshole I thought haha.

P.S. Golf is responsible for more (tree)deaths than any other thing in history.

If I had a nickel for every time I read the the rule book and found a misused rule, I'd have a lot of nickels.

This is one thing I cannot get behind. All your doing is being a better golfer than your buddy.
