If "smart" refers to proven geniuses or people with a certain IQ, then yeah, that sounds reasonable, but if "smart" is just anyone who says they are (and people know they think that way), then those are two different situations. Unless you fit into the former category (and you very well could, but seeing as how you didn't say anything in your original post I doubt it), I don't see how you're able to be an authority on "smart" people.

Having an IQ of 179 (verified as approximately that by multiple professional tests, etc., not lame Internet quizzes) doesn't necessarily make me an "authority" because there are those with even higher scores. That said, I certainly can speak to my personal experience. The reason I didn't refer to my own IQ in my original post was done specifically to avoid the type of folks to whom I was referring. I will be deleting this comment shortly because some of them will soon appear and prove the substance of my original comment, which has already been downvoted by some of those same types.
