Brode already confirmed during last Blizzcon that Druid will be getting this skin
Someone in the audience asked him about exactly this Hamuul Runetotem guy, and Brode made remarks making it rather obvious that this was likely their choice, and confirmed that a Druid skin is coming as the next one in line, regardless.

I like Nemsy, but largely because Warlock is one of those classes that really lacks notable reps, outside of Gul'dan and Cho'Gall (and, arguably, the Eredar lords KJ and Archi-poo). Yes, Medivh shows you can have a hero AND a card, but I think the ONiK Medivh is a little... different character-wise. I feel Kil'Jaeden and Archimonde are likely suited as Cards, not heroes, and Cho'Gall already is.
But I also think a balance needs to be struck. I'm certain that Team 5 is aware of the demand for Hamuul, as it is another nod to actual Warcraft lore, AND gives us a Tauren hero.
Wasn't Cho'Gall only really a "Warlock" for a very brief period under Gul'Dan? He's always been some weird mage/not-quite shadow priest/shaman mishmash.

Chased him across the world and all the way to Outland when he was released, got captured, was freed, took him down, jailed his corpse out of spite, tries to stage a coup against Malfurion and Tyrande, frees the Demon Hunters, works with Illidan (begrudgingly) when he comes back from the dead and has not-at-all-sexual-tension-filled banter with him.
Maiev is like the coolest WoW character (at least for me, I only played the RTSes). She was Illidanโs jailor for 10 000 years, had a cool campaign and looks cool as hell.
I'm glad we have Nemsy as an alternate Warlock hero. There aren't a lot of notable gnomes (say that five times fast) and she's a good opposite to Gul'dan grimdarkness.

Any non orc non elf race is welcomed tbh. In the beginning people were complaining about half the chars being orca, so they went on to make (almost) only elves. With a lore that vast as wow, I'm stunned how we haven't gotten so much more races to play. Or at least, you know, 1 skin per class?! It started back in 2014 iirc.

Cairne is not on the list because he is not iconic leader of the Horde, unlike those 3. Besides that he never had any roots/history with the Horde unlike Garrosh. Who grown up with Orcs, father was Grom Hellscream etc etc.
Been waiting 4 years for a proper Warlock, Shaman, or Druid skin, and instead Shaman gets a murloc, Warlock some random gnome that isn't even from Warcraft, and Druid gets literally nothing. I wouldn't hold your breath.
I'm okay with that. I'd still prefer Broll Bearmantle. Part of me wants to complete the arena group, Logosh or Varian warrior, Rehgar Shaman, Broll druid! (Don't forget Valeera xD)
They were fun and all that it just wasn't my aesthetic. I liked it but I also didn't, aha. MoP was when they started doing stuff that made the world feel more real, such as making flying enemies slightly higher off the ground, at least tree height, when not aggro'd, and all of that attention to detail like that was really cool. But I wouldn't spend a year or two in pandaria, broken shore, Argus, outland or draenor, ever again. You could catch me anywhere in EK, Kali, Northrend though.

I really don't get why new players would be confused nor why it would be a problem. New players won't even know what totem does in the game, or what a druid even is. If they have experiences playing WoW or any games that has Taurens in it, they would know that Runetotem is a druid character. Putting everything aside, even if they get confused, I don't see any negative outcome that might lead from it.
but tyrande looks like a priest. for people who know nothing of WoW lore, tyrande isn't confusing

I just want a new wave of heroes for purchase. I love how they did Maiev but I don't want to keep doing weird or annoying things for new skins and I would love to just be able to buy them again
If Blizzard comes with a new Druid hero this year that is not Hamuul or another WoW character I'm so done with this game. We don't need shitty excuses for heroes like Nemsy or Morgl.

Nemsy was cool. First gnome character, very fun voice lines. It's just not as widely available as it probably could be.
But yeah, the point stands. Every time Druid gets brought up Runetotem is the frontrunner for it so there's really no excuse for not giving him to us.

Everything in the game is Warcraft related and the devs already said they don't plan on adding stuff from outside the Warcraft universe. And even before removing the title there was stuff like GvG,TGT and LoE which introduced original characters. The title change had literally no impact on the direction of the game.

This would obviouslt be great but I think I might be unlikely simply on the basis of the name, "Runetotem" just seems a very Shaman-y name. If your only exposure to the Warcraft universe is through Hearthstone it's possible there may be a little confusion and we've seen that Blizzard really don't want Hearthstone players to be confused!

Tbh I think the best would be if druid got cenarius or illidan as an alternate hero. Yes I know they are cards already, but lore wise they relate to both malfurian and tryande so well. The interactions you could make would be cool too.
Also this let's these 2 epic characters get some representation in this game, cuz let's face it their cards are not the most optimal
I think Illidan would be a really bad idea, mainly because in the lore, Malfurion and him get taught druidism by Cenarius, and Illidan calls it crap before abandoning that training and embracing the ways of the arcane.
Cenarius sounds cool and all, but he's literally a demigod and visually looks a lot like night elves.

Any non orc non elf race is welcomed tbh. In the beginning people were complaining about half the chars being orca, so they went on to make (almost) only elves. With a lore that vast as wow, I'm stunned how we haven't gotten so much more races to play. Or at least, you know, 1 skin per class?! It started back in 2014 iirc.

Cairne is not on the list because he is not iconic leader of the Horde, unlike those 3. Besides that he never had any roots/history with the Horde unlike Garrosh. Who grown up with Orcs, father was Grom Hellscream etc etc.

They were fun and all that it just wasn't my aesthetic. I liked it but I also didn't, aha. MoP was when they started doing stuff that made the world feel more real, such as making flying enemies slightly higher off the ground, at least tree height, when not aggro'd, and all of that attention to detail like that was really cool. But I wouldn't spend a year or two in pandaria, broken shore, Argus, outland or draenor, ever again. You could catch me anywhere in EK, Kali, Northrend though.

I really don't get why new players would be confused nor why it would be a problem. New players won't even know what totem does in the game, or what a druid even is. If they have experiences playing WoW or any games that has Taurens in it, they would know that Runetotem is a druid character. Putting everything aside, even if they get confused, I don't see any negative outcome that might lead from it.

Nemsy was cool. First gnome character, very fun voice lines. It's just not as widely available as it probably could be.
But yeah, the point stands. Every time Druid gets brought up Runetotem is the frontrunner for it so there's really no excuse for not giving him to us.

If there was still the subtitle "Heroes of Warcraft", Blizzard was like forced to do WoW related stuff.. Without the subtitle Team 5 is free to create unique content, not strictly bonded with the Warcraft world

Everything in the game is Warcraft related and the devs already said they don't plan on adding stuff from outside the Warcraft universe. And even before removing the title there was stuff like GvG,TGT and LoE which introduced original characters. The title change had literally no impact on the direction of the game.

This would obviouslt be great but I think I might be unlikely simply on the basis of the name, "Runetotem" just seems a very Shaman-y name. If your only exposure to the Warcraft universe is through Hearthstone it's possible there may be a little confusion and we've seen that Blizzard really don't want Hearthstone players to be confused!

Tbh I think the best would be if druid got cenarius or illidan as an alternate hero. Yes I know they are cards already, but lore wise they relate to both malfurian and tryande so well. The interactions you could make would be cool too.
Also this let's these 2 epic characters get some representation in this game, cuz let's face it their cards are not the most optimal

I think Illidan would be a really bad idea, mainly because in the lore, Malfurion and him get taught druidism by Cenarius, and Illidan calls it crap before abandoning that training and embracing the ways of the arcane.
Cenarius sounds cool and all, but he's literally a demigod and visually looks a lot like night elves.
