What I want to know is: How do weapon Deathrattles interact with [[Spiritsinger Umbra]]?

tisbutahumbug ยท 65 points ยท Posted at 17:46:26 on May 27, 2017 ยท (Permalink)

After you summon a minion, trigger its Deathrattle effect.

Nothing happens.

It's not always safe to just blindly trust the card text.

ManChild9 ยท 73 points ยท Posted at 21:18:49 on May 27, 2017 ยท (Permalink)

You're right, I wonder how [[Chillwind Yeti]] reacts with [[Brann Bronzebeard]].

Mr_Jeeves ยท 17 points ยท Posted at 22:09:49 on May 27, 2017 ยท (Permalink)

Badly. You don't want to try it, trust me.

FlyBoyG ยท 11 points ยท Posted at 01:58:33 on May 28, 2017 ยท (Permalink)

You joke, but there are some situations where card text is misleading. For example Amara Warden of Hope doesn't set health, but heals you so it could end up killing you with Auchenai.

ger0000 ยท 5 points ยท Posted at 05:52:17 on May 28, 2017 ยท (Permalink)

There is a hunter card which says that you can target your hero power. However if you are ragnaros with the card in play, the hero power is still random.

Allistorrichards ยท 3 points ยท Posted at 05:22:14 on May 28, 2017 ยท (Permalink)

I think that interaction is actually her setting your max health to 40 then healing you, which is why it works like that, even though it makes no sense as to why it's done that way.

Case in point: Molten Giant.

A player's first instinct should be to read the damn card. But they don't, they just trust their gut, cross their fingers, and give it a shot. This sad truth is in part due to /r/hearthstone constantly bashing Team 5's QA process.

assassin10 ยท 18 points ยท Posted at 21:43:54 on May 27, 2017 ยท (Permalink)

Back during the Dark Wanderer tavern brawl one of the secrets was "Secret: When your opponent summons a minion with Deathrattle, destroy it." Thing is, it also triggered off deathrattle weapons. So the QA process is not infallible. For the most part a card's text is correct but not always.

vanasbry000 ยท 8 points ยท Posted at 22:31:30 on May 27, 2017 ยท (Permalink)

For the most part a card's text is correct but not always.

But the conversation doesn't reflect that. Every single time there's an actual discussion going on, it ends up getting buried by a comment that just says "because spaghetti code", yet is raking in the karma. Every time. It becomes infuriating after a while.

I've had conversations with people here who have terrible misconceptions regarding the fundamentals of the play minion sequence (goes 'whenever play', 'whenever summon', 'battlecry phase', 'after play', 'after summon'). They invent all of these rules for themselves. It's insane.

A person might see 1 bugged interaction in every 350 matches of Hearthstone. So on a case by case basis, players need to have faith in the developer.

Spaghetti code?

All you need is to put a copy of Lotus Agents in a shaman deck, and youre bound to get it at some point. Might take like 200 games, but ay the cards isnt that bad

rhesus1501 ยท 7 points ยท Posted at 22:35:47 on May 27, 2017 ยท (Permalink)

I too have time to play 200 games just to answer a question that can be answered online in 50 words or less
