Dumbest Arena Player Ever
First 2 picks were Kazakus. Dream is real. I get interrupted with about 10 picks left. Come back, forget what I had, and I pick the Nerubians. Send me bleach.
Typical game. Mulliganed hard for Nerubians every game, never would get them. Kazakus? One in every starting hand. Most games they were 4 mana 3/3s played for tempo. I suck. 5 wins.

I've played since beta. Made Legend. Average 5.9 wins per Arena run. I just went full rhubarb for a minute and it cost me everything.

I had an equally dumb, if not more dumb moment in arena. I managed to draft the Black Knight but he never showed up in any of my games. I'm something like 4-2 at this point and I finally draw him so I'm thinking "awesome, as soon as he plays a taunt I'll get some use out of him." For the longest time this guy never plays a taunt but he's beating me on the board so I'm constantly worrying about having to play the knight without getting the value from him just to get something on the board. As soon as I manage to stabilize a little, this mofo drops Tirion on me. R/hearthstone, I felt like the dumbest man alive; I completely forgot I had the Black Knight in my hand. I played a 5-cost minion and realized the horrible mistake I made. I play the Knight a turn later but by then it was too late, the game was lost. My opponent friend requested me and apologized profusely but it was completely my fault. I've never felt more dumb in my life than in that moment.

Made an extremely similar mistake, recently. Got a Reno, and was pumped to draft a no dupe deck. Well, about halfway through I completely forgot about Reno, and at the same time started getting offered Kabal Talonpriests out the ass... Long story short, I drafted 4 Talonpriests, the only duplicates in the entire deck. Spent a few games staring regretfully at Reno's green border. Went like 4-3.

That does sound super frustrating. Nothing is quite as bad in hearthstone as being mad at yourself for misplaying when you know you have. Super tilting.

Two doubles in whole deck in arena with Kazakus doesn't seem too bad, esp since your dupes seem to be the type of cards you'd usually keep in your mulligan as well. Granted you got double Kazakus so double the downside of the dupes, but still in longer games you should get them to hit off pretty often. I looked at my own drafts with Kazakus in MSG so far and the two decks that did go to 12 wins had respectively 3 and 2 doubles, pretty big drops also, and I don't recall having to play tempo Kazakus too often those runs. But ofc you can just get unlucky and never draw them. Sometimes I've had a run that's like 10+ games in when I draw a card seeing it first time and not even remembering I had it in deck lol, all kinds of crap can happen in arena aye :P

Well how bad was it? I mean, the two Kazakuses obviously don't block each other, and when I last got a Kazakus I still picked 2 darkbombs and didn't have a problem getting Kaza active in any of my 10 games. 3 of the same is obviously worse, but then again you do want to draw the Prophets as early as possible.

You'd think with 3 of them and mulliganing for them, it would have happened more often. Somehow in 8 games I only got an opening hand Nerubian twice. Had Kazakus in opening hand 6 or 7 times.

Depends on how many arenas you've done. Keep in mind most arena runs go 0-3 to 3-3.

I really don't see how this is so dumb? It really depends on what you picked the Nerubians over. Picking dupes with cards like Kazakus is a risk/reward or cost/benefit assessment. If the Nerubians were a LOT better than the alternative choices, you possibly still made the right choice. However if you picked Nerubians over similarly valued cards, then yeah, you done f_cked up.

Honestly the deck should have got me 8 still. I just had insanely bad card draw RNG. Having a non activated Kazakus every turn 4 is such a killer.
3 Nerubians generally isn't bad, but I almost never had them opening hand. With 3, statistically it was some really bad variance.
