I think a lot of the shelf breaking items are hard to turn into little cutie marks. Like the MTC rape room. Or children meeting with bishops privately. Or patriarchy. Or the Mountain Meadows Massacre. Or the BYU honor code punishing sex assault victims. Or the fact that for the Q15, a modest stipend is six figures... So if you can turn those things into cutie marks, good on you, but I do think a cup of coffee would make a nice cutie mark!

I was raised in very conservative fundamentalist Christianity (Baptist in this case). Given some of the churches Iโ€™ve been in, I find Mormonism interesting from the perspective of people who figured out itโ€™s bullshit. The church led Iโ€™ve been in werenโ€™t quite as culty because there wasnโ€™t an overarching organization, but I have no doubt that at least one of them would have been if they had the power to swing it.

Besides that, with the findings about child abuse and sexual assault in the Mormon church that have come up lately, I think itโ€™s a good idea for me to try to be at least a bit familiar with the organization. Itโ€™s horrifying, and horrifyingly familiar.
