In the different environment of Riverton/Herriman, they adapted to change how they look drastically based on what the other members of their colony look like, even resorting to permanent modifications to their skin, face, and figure to be accepted. In most colonies of Mormons this ends at about the age of 19, but not those from the Riverton/Herriman area. This habit will continue until death in most cases.

Sorry for not knowing this but if BYU players use the real word "fuck" is there any kind of action taken? I'm guessing maybe just some warnings at first and then possible suspensions? If someone could explain this to me about BYU athletes...
BYU is a strict Mormon school. Students will be disciplined and could potentially loose all accreditation for breaking rules. No beards, no bare shoulders, no shorts above the knee, no sandals, no caffeine (until god said caffeine in soda is OK just a few months ago). Most importantly, no fucks of any kind are allowed, not as a verb, noun, or adjective.

I think this is an example of something Iโve noticed as a post-Mormon. Ive noticed that Mormons donโt really do good things for the right reasons. They do good things for some future reward. This is why technicalities are so important to them.
Yelling โshut the F upโ is not nice, and expresses negative feelings and a willingness to be aggressive about controlling someoneโs actions. As a post-Mormon that believes that people and relationships are what matter most, I think this is wrong. But to Mormons, that is not really a consideration because they have a rule book that just says โdonโt say fuckโ.
TLDR; saying โfuckโ is worse for Mormons than not appropriately valuing and respecting other human beings.
I agree with your comment, especially being hung up on technicalities. But I think this at least gets them started doing good things for people and I think many TBMs and exmormons alike mature to a point where they do good things for the sake of doing good things. (clearly not all mature, I know some people who get stuck at teenager mentality)
40 years ago our "mutual" organized an event to see BYU BB play UT Austin where we lived. The BYU players got caught up in a display of very poor sportsmanship and I left completely embarrassed for/by them. As I'm looking back, remembering this because of this post, I wonder what I thought back then; were the referees plotting against BYU because they hated Mormons (and the players had to deal with this prejudice constantly at away games), or were the players just assholes/babies like their reactions displayed?
