My TBM dil is doing this to her kids. Their names are a laughable joke. They don't live in Utah, so I think it will be difficult road for these kids.
One child has such a horrid name that I notice the parents have kind of backed off using it. I think they got so many horrified looks from people when they heard the darling baby girls name. I saw it happen a couple of times when I went shopping with dil and new baby. One lady was so speechless that she turned and walked away.

Ellie and Jared on their youtube channel named their boys: Jackson and Calvin. She's in her apron named one kid Shaylee and one, Kaylee? and the boy is Boston. PHILLIPS fambam: Emberlynn, and Ashlynn and I don't remember the boys.
I knew a Mormon girl who named her daughter Abcde said "Ab-sid-ee." She said she named her that so that she could easily spell her name. My wife also has a friend who named her daughter La-a said "La-dash-uh." Morms gotta Morm.
My claim is that this guy isn't connected to both names. I also believed my stepdad knew people with kids named Pajama (Pay-ja-may) and Orangejello/Lemonjello for years before I grew up.
Understood, and I'm saying if you work in certain jobs you see a ton of names. I've seen names that make every single one you've listed look downright normal. Courts, accounting, medical, vital records, admissions, etc you are going to see s ton of crazy names. So yes, be skeptical. Don't parrot something you haven't personally seen or perpetuate urban myths. But these aren't that crazy of claims
Well, they are considering the statistics on both. Again, all I'm attacking is his claim that he's certain he is connected to both because that is painfully unlikely and to believe it is simply naive. I'm certain both names exist, as the internet clearly proves that.
Unlikely doesn't always mean not true. Would I stake anything of value on his claim being true? Fuck no. But I also wouldn't bet against it. It's a silly thing to automatically discount and be so certain of the falsehood of.
For the record, I've personally seen multiples of one of the names you mentioned and I've seen far more unlikely names too. If I listed the top ten weirdest names I've seen anyone would call bullshit. Statistically improbable? Yes. But if you roll the dice all day long you're bound to get a lot of yahtzees
You're right on. I know that for real. To make matters worse, I have two TBM granddaughters with horrid names. They're still too young to get the joke that's been played on them. I can't bring myself to say their names. That's how bad they are. I have endearing nicknames that I call them. They do the same with me :)
I can't say their names here. They'd show up right away on Google. I don't think that's a good thing either. Worst of all, their middle names are even worse!
I used to be an information operator. Yes, these crazy names and more exist. I feel so sorry for some people. I sometimes wonder why they don't legally change their names.
The ones that really got me were the women with stripper names that obviously weren't strippers. There were a LOT of those. Candi Cayne, or a version of it was a popular one.
Parents name their children crazy things sometimes, and in other cases they themselves chose the name through court order. The "urban legend" ones are actually more believable than most weird ones I see.
Who the Hell are you to say who myself and my wife know?? I don't care if there is an urban myth about these names. My wife and I DO know people with these names. Also, I knew a kid names Bobby Balls growing up whose dad's name is Harry. Do you want to call me a liar on that one too???

My claim is that this guy isn't connected to both names. I also believed my stepdad knew people with kids named Pajama (Pay-ja-may) and Orangejello/Lemonjello for years before I grew up.

Understood, and I'm saying if you work in certain jobs you see a ton of names. I've seen names that make every single one you've listed look downright normal. Courts, accounting, medical, vital records, admissions, etc you are going to see s ton of crazy names. So yes, be skeptical. Don't parrot something you haven't personally seen or perpetuate urban myths. But these aren't that crazy of claims

Well, they are considering the statistics on both. Again, all I'm attacking is his claim that he's certain he is connected to both because that is painfully unlikely and to believe it is simply naive. I'm certain both names exist, as the internet clearly proves that.

Unlikely doesn't always mean not true. Would I stake anything of value on his claim being true? Fuck no. But I also wouldn't bet against it. It's a silly thing to automatically discount and be so certain of the falsehood of.
For the record, I've personally seen multiples of one of the names you mentioned and I've seen far more unlikely names too. If I listed the top ten weirdest names I've seen anyone would call bullshit. Statistically improbable? Yes. But if you roll the dice all day long you're bound to get a lot of yahtzees

You're right on. I know that for real. To make matters worse, I have two TBM granddaughters with horrid names. They're still too young to get the joke that's been played on them. I can't bring myself to say their names. That's how bad they are. I have endearing nicknames that I call them. They do the same with me :)
I can't say their names here. They'd show up right away on Google. I don't think that's a good thing either. Worst of all, their middle names are even worse!

I used to be an information operator. Yes, these crazy names and more exist. I feel so sorry for some people. I sometimes wonder why they don't legally change their names.
The ones that really got me were the women with stripper names that obviously weren't strippers. There were a LOT of those. Candi Cayne, or a version of it was a popular one.

Parents name their children crazy things sometimes, and in other cases they themselves chose the name through court order. The "urban legend" ones are actually more believable than most weird ones I see.

Who the Hell are you to say who myself and my wife know?? I don't care if there is an urban myth about these names. My wife and I DO know people with these names. Also, I knew a kid names Bobby Balls growing up whose dad's name is Harry. Do you want to call me a liar on that one too???
