I know more than I care to about stink bugs and that is dust for sure. They're known for being slow moving and complete idiots even compared to other household bugs. You come at them with some toilet paper and they just sit there while you catch them and don't even put up a fuss while they're trapped in TP.
Those are his trainers. They are made to be slippery so he gets a real workout. If he didn't wear them he'd climb up the lamp base without any problem. Maybe you missed the part about him training for the bug marathon?
So I also have no pics because the season has only just started here but I too keep them in plastic bottles like OP described. I have empty OJ bottles in every section of the house for just this purpose. I used to use soapy water because it was supposed to fuck with them and kill them quicker somehow, but I stopped because after like 5-10 of them in there I had to toss the bottle because it made a gross Stink Bug Stew which is way worse than just a bunch of dry dead stink bugs.
I had this boss who was... well just out there. He was usually drunk by 6 AM but that's beside the point.
One day he was telling my coworker and I about how there was a crow or something cawing on his roof so he shot and killed it with a BB gun and left its corpse there to "let his friends not to come around"
My coworker starts messing with him by saying "I did the same thing with a cockroach I found in my apartment. I cut its head off and stuck it on a toothpick then shoved the toothpick in the ground. Havent seen another one of those fuckers since." Our boss just nodded and said something like "that's what's up"
That could actually work with crows though, they’ll remember that one of there own died there
However, if they know it was your boss that killed the crow they’ll fuck with him until he dies or moves. Even the baby crows will learn to hate him. They’re smart birds.
One summer a few years ago they absolutely invaded my room. I found dozens and they crawled on me as I slept. I developed a hateful phobia of them and now I freak out when I see them but then go out of my way to catch them and drown them or burn them alive.
Dude, they invaded Germany this summer. I kept spraying brake cleaner and aceton on them which they like, but there are so many of them :(
Keep fighting.
When you find one just take a plastic bottle and stick over them and they'll go into the bottle then you can just put a lid on it and then you don't smell them.
If you keep them as pets like this the three I had lasted at least 3, if not 4, weeks.

can you smell them normally? Ive had hundreds of these around my house growing up, and not me nor any of my friends noticed a smell from them. We actually wondered why it was called a stink bug
Not if they're just hanging out and doing their thing but if you harass them they'll generally smell and if you smash them you'll almost certainly smell the pungent little bastards.
I would almost encourage you to smash one just so you'll know what they smell like.

Hey CommonMisspellingBot, just a quick heads up:
Your spelling hints are really shitty because they're all essentially "remember the fucking spelling of the fucking word".
Indeed. I'm from British Columbia's interior, so they get into your house no matter what and they dont die until like December. They are everywhere and they smell like shit. Technically they are Cedar Bugs but everyone calls them Stink Bugs
Whoa. TIL. And here I was about to say he needs help getting his dust shoes off with a tweezer or something. There's a ton of them where I live (in the US), now I feel weird for having been nice to them
Naaa fuck his little legs and I'm happy he got dust shoes on. Bec they smell so dreadful very few things (in the US) are willing to eat them so they just breed and breed and breed till you find hundreds of them in your aunt's barn. The worst thing about them is you can't crush them or all their dreadfulness comes out, you gotta drown them! DROWN THEM I SAY!!! Get a jar fill it with water and soap and brush them in to water! THEN BRING THEM TO YOUR TOILET AND FLUSH THEM DOWN WITH THE REST OF THE SHIT!!! Do your part, KILL THE STINK BUGS!!!!
