Coworker’s pen dies in a meeting and handles it in the most cringeworthy way possible.

A few weeks ago, my coworker (24m) and I are meeting with two clients. He’s facilitating the meeting and is clearly nervous because he’s acting a bit too formal for the situation (cringy in its own right).

Midway through the meeting, one of the clients (40f), stops talking to ask if he needs to borrow a pen. I look over and he’s been scribbling down notes with a pen that’s run out of ink. The last half of his notes were just etched into his paper..

Anyways, he’s clearly embarrassed that we’ve all now noticed that he’s been carving away at his paper. In attempt to turn the attention away from his imprints, he turns down the offer of a new pen. And we continue the meeting, pretending like we don’t notice him dying inside after each dry pen stroke.
