You forgot the same poster on said forum replying to their original question to say that they solved their issue and then fucking leaving without explaining how they fixed the issue

Also the forum thread is like 7 years old

A pilot is flying a small single engine plane with a lot of really important execs on board into Seattle airport. There is fog so thick that visibility is 10m, and his instruments are out. He circles looking for a landmark and after an hour, he is low on fuel and his passengers are very nervous.

you don't know how many times i've seen this happening everytime i try to look for the solution on microsoft support. i never saw anyone talking about this so this is finally my chance to pour out my anger at microsoft

They don't have any extra privileges, answer every question with multiple paragraphs telling you to reinstall drivers and check for Windows updates for the heck of it, and end them with a disclaimer saying they are not an official Microsoft employee.

Like, who volunteers their time like that?

Add some bot first asking for all your specs again, and then telling you to submit an official report to Microsoft.

The other day I was looking for a solution to a problem. I find a reddit post describing the same thing. Someone had written the solution in the comments, but the comment user was deleted. And below the OP just "thank you so much, that worked!"

I don't even bother with offical sites. I just go straight to reddit and lo and behold the first thread google digs up has an 80% chance to actually solve my problem

That reminds me of NTP being busted on my windows 11 install for months now which I assume is because my fiber provider probably specifically breaks windows NTP requests or it simply does not support IPv4 only networks anymore (my fiber is IPv4 only).

I just gave up and installed a third party NTP client at this point.

I've absolutely never had any problem solved by looking at the official microsoft forums

Forgot the entire global populace stating that they have the same issue with no further input.

well, tbf those generic "fixes" can often actually resolve many of people's problems

Linux does not have this problem
