Sometimes they are active. I think they just don't bother to moderate this sub and do their own thing.
I'm gonna copy what the mod replied to one of my comments about the current state of the sub:

I'm aware some people aren't happy with the content but honestly I think moderating for content defeats the purpose of shitposting. There was a mod team at one point but once they started actively removing content people got pissed off so I decided to remove the mods and just let people upvote what they want. Yeah it brings in stuff that doesn't fit sometimes but I don't think it's a big deal for a stupid shitposting sub.
Between overmoderating (which everyone has their own idea of) and not moderating at all, I prefer the second option. We're just here to screw around after all

To all the people saying it doesn't have to be funny : yes if fucking does. This is the kinda of sub you go to once, sort by best of all time, laugh at the 10 first posts and leave. Unless you're a NEET who doesn't have anything else to do. If the point of this sub is not to be funny then it would be the most fucking boring sub of all time
Edit : and the sub is not funny after 5 minutes, hence the post of OP.
One minor difference, this is easy to follow. Some of their images are really hard to determine what the original message is without having to play sentence jigsaw.
