There's nothing more excruciating than watching reddit "natural law" debates because it's like a law of nature that nobody debating it has a fucking clue what they're talking about.
Yeah, it's all "hurr muh appeal to nature." To be fair though, it wouldn't surprise me if there are a lot of professional philosophers who misunderstand what Natural Law theory even is. This isn't to say that all those who understand it find the arguments compelling, of course.
I definitely have no issue with teleological ethics, when understood properly. I guess as far as ethics go I'd describe myself as aretaic/teleological with a dash of existentialism on top.
