"What is your McDonald's sauce policy?" I ask, and before she can answer with her corporate canned response, I cut her off by requesting a manager.
The manager comes over and I can see they're ready to repeat the same script.
As they talk at me, all I hear is white noise.
All I see is red. My sanctuary.
"Sir? Sir?" I hear as I'm brought back to this reality, the manager waiting for me to comply with their drivel.
With a wry smile, I raise my phone and in plain view of the staff, proceed to order as many BBQ sauces as I possibly can.
Turns out the maximum amount of sauces you can request in a single order is 20.
If I had with me my old Samsung Galaxy S4 from the drawer at home, I could (and would) have ordered twice that amount at the same time.
After only using the one additional BBQ sauce I originally requested, I cleared the sauce tub pyramid I made on my tray into the trash. Their temple had fallen.
I'm sure they won't challenge me again. Alas, they won't need to. I'll be placing all future sauce orders through the McApp instead.
For me, it’s the McChicken. The best fast food sandwich. I even ask for extra McChicken sauce packets and the staff is so friendly and more than willing to oblige.
One time I asked for McChicken sauce packets and they gave me three. I said, “Wow, three for free!” and the nice friendly McDonald’s worker laughed and said, “I’m going to call you 3-for-free!”.
Now the staff greets me with “hey it’s 3-for-free!” and ALWAYS give me three packets. It’s such a fun and cool atmosphere at my local McDonald’s restaurant, I go there at least 3 times a week for lunch and a large iced coffee with milk instead of cream, 1-2 times for breakfast on the weekend, and maybe once for dinner when I’m in a rush but want a great meal that is affordable, fast, and can match my daily nutritional needs.
I even dip my fries in McChicken sauce, it’s delicious! What a great restaurant.
For me, it's Moderna. The best covid™ vaccine. I even ask for extra jabs and the Walgreens staff is so friendly and more than willing to oblige.
One time I asked for a Moderna jab and they gave me three. I said, "Wow, three for free!" and the nice friendly Walgreens pharmacist laughed and said, "I'm going to call you 3-for-free!".
Now the staff greets me with "hey it's 3-for-free!" and ALWAYS give me three jabs. It's such a fun and cool atmosphere at my local Walgreens pharmacy, I go there at least 3 times a week for jabs and PCR tests, 1-2 times for Pfizer on the weekends, and maybe once for JnJ when I'm in a rush but want to feel safe and show that I believe in the $cience!, it's fast, and can match my daily brain-fog needs.
I even jab myself with the Science Juice, it's safe! What a great pharmacy.

I work at McDonald’s and yes this is real. Majority of the time we’re supposed to charge for extra sauce, but most of the time we don’t charge for 1-2 extra sauces.
Well this is nearly a two way thing for me. I get why he reacted that way, but for a 30 cent sauce? Those fucking nuggets cost like several times more, where I live that shit costs smf like 11€. Also it's incredible that this guy eats that 20 pack regularly, I can eat myself 20 nuggies if I'm hungry, BUT I CAN'T GET THAT SHIT DOWN REGULARLY

I get why the worker might have been a bit nervous tbh (although ofc that was just his interpretation). Any time you have to tell a customer something they won't want to hear you know there's a chance they'll react negatively and take it out on you, especially in a minimum wage service job. Is this currently-smiling person going to say "oh okay" and pay the 30 cents or are they going to flip out and start yelling at you or demand to see the manager? I'm guessing the worker has dealt with enough difficult customers making huge deals over petty things like this to brace themselves for an aggressive response.

Sauce packets are one of the most crucial points for food cost control. Sure, each ones like a cent.. if that(more for like ranch and bbq). But over the course of the month it adds the fuck up.
That "smug bitch" of a managers probably getting her ass chewed raw over food costs, and is sticking as hard to policy as she can to maintain them.

It’s not what you eat that makes you fat, it’s how much and how often you eat. McDonalds is garbage with no nutritional value, but I could lose 10 pounds eating only McDonalds, easy peasy.

I work at McDonald’s and yes this is real. Majority of the time we’re supposed to charge for extra sauce, but most of the time we don’t charge for 1-2 extra sauces.

Well this is nearly a two way thing for me. I get why he reacted that way, but for a 30 cent sauce? Those fucking nuggets cost like several times more, where I live that shit costs smf like 11€. I get why the worker might have been a bit nervous tbh (although ofc that was just his interpretation). Any time you have to tell a customer something they won't want to hear you know there's a chance they'll react negatively and take it out on you, especially in a minimum wage service job. Is this currently-smiling person going to say "oh okay" and pay the 30 cents or are they going to flip out and start yelling at you or demand to see the manager? I'm guessing the worker has dealt with enough difficult customers making huge deals over petty things like this to brace themselves for an aggressive response.

Sauce packets are one of the most crucial points for food cost control. Sure, each ones like a cent.. if that(more for like ranch and bbq). But over the course of the month it adds the fuck up.
