Sticker star is nothing compared to the others, and Mario and Luigi- Paper Jam is more of a Mario and Luigi (the series) game than a paper Mario game, though it does have a lot of those paper Mario elements from what I've seen of it.

I dunno. It kinda follows the formula of the other paper mario games, but it feels really different stylistically. The humor has kind of a different feel to it, and I feel like it doesn't build its characters nearly as well. And I feel like the worlds you visit sometimes feel like they exist for a cheap gag rather than being their own fully realized mini-locales. It barely feels like a Mario game at times.
Again, it's not bad. I just think that it's a different style, and not quite the caliber of the other two games. (It gets extra bonus points for allowing me to play nearly the whole game as Bowser, because his dialog is always hilarious)
Have you actually beaten it? Because SPM tone feels similar to TTYD. Especially with how dark and dramatic the game get's in it's later chapters.
And I have to disagree in regards to character, Count Bleck and his gangs has to be the best written Mario Villains in the Paper Mario Series.
I also don't get the Chapter feeling like a cheap gag. Can you elaborate?

Well... maybe it's more accurate to say that they just don't feel like they match the character of the Mario universe. A lot of it might be the pacing. In particular, I don't like the way the 4-levels to a world structure affects the narrative. I just... I don't think I can articulate it better without taking a couple hours to sit down and play the game again...
And yeah, I've finished the game and done the pit of 100 trials (and... wasn't there a second pit of 100 trials or something in the reverse village? I seem to remember doing that). I just wasn't feeling it so much for those characters.
And I was never that fond of the random geometry people.
I argee that the geometry design look sloopy in some area of the game. (Like the citizen of Flipside/Flopside and the cragons..)
But I felt it work with Count Bleck, Mimi, Dimentio, and Nastaia.
I believe the game excuse as to why the characters look so weird is because there in another dimension. This is evidence by the fact that if you talk to one of the NPC, they'll comment that Mario looks strange in a ironic sense of comedy..
But I can see why some would feel off by the designs, it is very different from how Paper Mario games are usually stylized.
At the very least, a texture pack for TTYD would be incredibly easy to do. Text editing is as well. Not sure about anything else though. I wonder if there are any mod tools?

Could make an engine that runs on top of Undertales memory? Sounds pretty simple than making a whole game.
Toby discourages fan games that effectively replace Undertale. And also, it sounds pretty difficult since Undertale has a lot of quirks that would be difficult to rebuild from scratch
Well in TTYD there were abilities that folded Mario into things like a paper airplane and a boat. Plus you could roll yourself up into a tube and turn yourself sideways iirc.

Thats ok, any help at all would be great. Can you do anything else? Make concept sketches, make music, direct stuff? Any thing at all would be a great help.
It might help to use some sort of premade RPG engine to avoid coding so you can work within your limited team size. I say this as an artist and programmer; people willing to do the tedious jobs are high in demand. For every animator, there are a thousand voice actors, managers and "ideas people."

Sure! At a certain part of the game you (Mario) are "cursed" with various paper powers i.e. turning into paper planes, paper boats or , in this case, being able to turn sideways. Since you are paper-thin, you can now fit through cracks in the walls and thin gaps between buildings. To convert that to Undertale, instead of turning sideways, you could just flip to the other side and assume the other appearance and personality. This would allow completely new dialogue options, as well as different ways to get Information. NPC doesn't believe you? Flip to Chara and intimidate them into submission! NPC too scared? Flip to Frisk and make them feel safe

Only thing we need now is to somehow incorporate Beat'emup elements into it and make the plot about Timelines and we have incorporated the greatest things ever into one.
I think he's implying that Undertale is already about timelines. Which it is. The way you worded your sentence implied it wasn't already about timelines. (You don't have to MAKE the game be about timelines.)

I mean, I love Paper Mario, and TTYD is probably one of my favorite Mario RPGs of all time, but he's pretty clear on his wishes. I suppose he can't really stop someone short of a cease and desist if he was determined, though.
The art style of Paper Mario combined with Undertale looks amazing! Also, those different colored heart crystals and the souls of the human children is a connection I didn't make before until now.
all 6 previous kids' deaths are asgore's fault (plus some of frisk's if you lose to asgore and tell him so), plus toriel warns you that he'd personally kill you.
And both things just make me rather depressed about our likelihood of getting another good Paper Mario game. Oh, Intelligent Systems, how far you have fallen.

Sure! At a certain part of the game you (Mario) are "cursed" with various paper powers i.e. turning into paper planes, paper boats or , in this case, being able to turn sideways. Since you are paper-thin, you can now fit through cracks in the walls and thin gaps between buildings. To convert that to Undertale, instead of turning sideways, you could just flip to the other side and assume the other appearance and personality. This would allow completely new dialogue options, as well as different ways to get Information. NPC doesn't believe you? Flip to Chara and intimidate them into submission! NPC too scared? Flip to Frisk and make them feel safe

Overall my second favorite mario RPG,though of all the PPM Mario games thats my favorite of the series,An the best RPG I've played in a long long time will be a WONDERFUL thing.

Paper Mario is 3D models of 2D objects, not just 2D.
Still looks awesome, but I think it would also be cool to do it in your own personal take on the style so you're not limited as much.
