It's long past time for a Federal VoterID law. No voting in federal elections without positive ID and proof of citizenship. I think it should be issued at the FEDERAL level, A voting license... linked to your IRS/Social Security account. no license, no vote.
in fact, you should have to pass a basic civics test in order to get the license. Then each election, the license should be hole punched, and re-issued each election. every two years.
People should pay 10 bucks for the license fee, to cover the cost.
Now the fun part. If you take money from the government, then your vote should be reduced in impact based on how much you receive VS your gross adjusted income. if you take more than you earn, then your vote is nullified.
work for it, earn it, or loose it, the ONLY fair system.
California can just issue millions of state IDs to their illegal population. I hate the expansion of the federal government, but there is no other way. States that do not have a system that ties into a federal registry should not have their electoral votes counted.
We're a Republic so I don't know what to tell you. Without the States the Fed doesn't exist.. not the other way around.
If a state violates the law the responsible officials should be prosecuted - but fraud in one state doesn't recommend to me to put all of the states into the hands of the federal govt. One democratic trifecta and the whole game would be over.
So instead we should let a handful of counties decide elections through preventable fraud? If California is not willing to let the federal government help in preventing voter fraud, then 49 states should not suffer the negative effects of California's electorate.
In a Republic, how does Texas protect itself from the negative effects of illegal immigration if California lets illegals vote to prevent Texas from protecting itself from illegal immigration?
