Oh wow. Y'know, that's pretty much /r/atheism's id showing through the proxy of some kid. The response from Priderage is noble and warm, but this stuck out like a sore thumb:
For a start, atheism doesn't mean belittling theists or going out of your way to humiliate or disprove them.
The dozens upon dozens of Facebook posts mocking theists beg to differ.

This is silly. Atheism just means not believing in God(s). Now, we're all aware here that certain atheists take this as a licence to be a dick to religious people, but Priderage's point is basically that atheists shouldn't act like dicks to religious people.
It's like you're accusing him of hypocrisy for criticizing the very thing you disapprove of.
Priderage is also making that point on /r/atheism, hence the irony of it. The brand of atheism employed there makes it seem as if atheism is nothing but mocking the religious. OP from that post just made the mistake of putting it all out in the forefront and being abominably vain, but he's acting how most of them act.
I know what atheism means, but that's not necessarily what atheists present it as.
Your post shows just the same type of irrational aggression you are complaining about. Atheism doesn't mean belittling theists and you know it. You are just taking the opportunity to circlejerk about how much of a circlejerk r/atheism is.
I'm not complaining about irrational aggression. I'm agnostic; a comfortably apathetic middlegrounds is where I live. Atheism doesn't mean belittling theists, but /r/atheism and several prominent atheists choose to do so regardless.
It was something that I started recognizing a lot more after I started browsing reddit. A lot of the users over in /r/atheism aren't atheist but anti-theist. They are two very different things. That isn't to say that I have a problem with anyone who is anti-theist, but at least admit it when people call you out on it. I feel anti-theists don't belong in /r/atheism and are just a toxin that stains other atheists. Its as distrusting as the atheists that go around posting in /r/Christianity to stir up trouble.
I tend to avoid /r/atheism for these reasons. It tends to shine through a lot when I browse /r/all once in a while. It would probably have been a more quality place if it wasn't part of the default subreddits for new users. If you joined it by choice it probably wouldn't have been full of the little kids who circlejerk over teasing christians on facebook, as bradamantium92 has pointed out.
Then why belittle some 15 year old who made an awkward post?

I came up with this quote just a few minuts ago. I thought /r/atheism would appreciate (self.atheism)

Just to be clear, I'm not a professional "quote maker". I'm just an atheist teenager who greatly values his intelligence and scientific fact over any silly fiction book written 3,500 years ago. This being said, I am open to any and all criticism.
"In this moment, I am euphoric. Not because of any phony god's blessing. But because, I am enlightened by my intelligence." - Aalewis
Eh?
Changes made: Inserted the date (screenshot reads "7 hours ago"). Misplaced comma in quote is by OP. Spelling mistake in MelisSassenach's comment ("any an all") is by MelisSassenach (to avoid future confusion).
This is what I love about the new age of Atheism: "Hey, let's not fall for their blind worship and phony philosophical mumbo-jumbo! Here, listen to my inspiring new quote!"
I am, too, amazed at my own intelligence. And EVERY HUMAN BEING'S INTELLIGENCE. Why? Because I can think. I don't know how I think, I just do. And I know that I know. I don't know what I do to remember things, they just pop up in my head. How? I don't know, but I know that I can remember. And I remember having remembered things.
Is this not something to be amazed at? That a clump of neurons can "magically" achieve consciousness?
It would be a matter of pride if I somehow managed to make myself more intelligent and powerful, by my own means. But neither my intelligence nor my memory are something I achieved by myself. My genetic code did that, without me noticing. This is the marvel.
In the same way, one can be amazed at his/her own beauty, or strength, or natural abilities - because it's a firsthand experience of being human. It has nothing to do with pride.
What I don't understand is how come this didn't just go away? Once you post something and it gets downvoted, it gets burried, right? Did this make it to the top page at first?

It can't be that hard... start 10 accounts today, use them a tiny bit, and when they are not suspiciously young, start posting "oblivious" posts like this. Just takes some time...

I have a number of old novelty accounts with numerous posts on them. The posts are... questionable.. though.
