You can customize it further than just "all porous" by only placing mushroom blocks on the sides you want to change. Just be warned that mining it again (with silk touch) will restore it to its original state.

Nice find. In the end, I think it's better that the block resets when mined, so we don't clog our inventory with variants.
Thats some useful tip right there! I've wondered since the releash of the snapshot how were we supposed to build with this variant (or just on somesides, or one)
