Pretty sure that's an ancient impact crater. Probably about 900 yards long. Dig in the bottom of the crater for iron.

This may have been what killed the Minecraft dinosaurs.

That is a very interesting preset... I like it.

Farlands or bust.

Some interesting coordinates to check out:

On the axes (X/Z: 0) terrain goes out until 74596 (X) or 69303 (Z). It dips below default sea level as early as 13614 though.

Shortly after X/Z: 1200 the terrain becomes 4 blocks in width, and dips between 6-8 blocks every 1000 or so blocks (this becomes less and less frequent as you get further, the last drop takes ~23000 blocks).

That terrain is so cool.

Well then, you have successfully made minecraft completely flip out.

EDIT: I've done more testing, it turns out the seed used can completely change the features of this map. I've found much more interesting features in other seeds - the one used here was pretty boring in comparison.

Minecraft has gone a bit meta in its terrain gen.

Wow. It just goes to show what cool things can happen when you're willing to experiment.

Kind of painful that my original post on the far lands preset got taken down for essentially no reason and this is still up.

Moaning aside, this looks pretty interesting. Is this circular?
