Work with all seed, maybe just slightly modify the sealevel

Dumb question, but how do I use this information to make a map like this?

SirBenet ยท 35 points ยท Posted at 13:49:27 on June 10, 2016 ยท (Permalink)

It's a bit hidden. When creating a world, click More World Options..., change World Type to Customized, click the Customize button below that, then Presets at the bottom, paste the text in the text box, press Use Preset, then Done, then Create New World.

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Soniop ยท 6 points ยท Posted at 13:54:13 on June 10, 2016 ยท (Permalink)

create new world, world type : customized click on customize > preset and paste the preset

unique-name-9035768 ยท 3 points ยท Posted at 22:35:52 on June 10, 2016 ยท (Permalink)

Another dumb question: When I paste the code, it only makes it to the ironmaxheight part. How do you paste the whole thing in?

N0tnat ยท 2 points ยท Posted at 03:29:07 on June 11, 2016 ยท (Permalink)

Are you sure you're pasting it into the right spot? It's possible that you have it on superflat instead of customized, and that might have a smaller text box.

unique-name-9035768 ยท 2 points ยท Posted at 15:03:56 on June 11, 2016 ยท (Permalink)

I'm on 1.7.10. The only options I get are:

*World Type: Default
*World Type: Superflat (then the Customize box appears under)
*World Type: Large Biomes
*World Type: Amplified

N0tnat ยท 7 points ยท Posted at 17:05:42 on June 11, 2016 ยท (Permalink)

Yeah, I think customized was in 1.8. Try using a newer version. (Current is 1.10)

Hi, sorry for the necropost, but your json is invalid. You have two commas after riverSize.

The correct json would be like this:

{"coordinateScale":175.0,"heightScale":75.0,"lowerLimitScale":512.0,"upperLimitScale":512.0,"depthNoiseScaleX":200.0,"depthNoiseScaleZ":200.0,"depthNoiseScaleExponent":0.5,"mainNoiseScaleX":165.0,"mainNoiseScaleY":106.61267,"mainNoiseScaleZ":165.0,"baseSize":8.267606,"stretchY":13.387607,"biomeDepthWeight":1.2,"biomeDepthOffset":0.2,"biomeScaleWeight":3.4084506,"biomeScaleOffset":0.0,"seaLevel":63,"useCaves":true,"useDungeons":true,"dungeonChance":7,"useStrongholds":true,"useVillages":true,"useMineShafts":true,"useTemples":true,"useMonuments":true,"useRavines":true,"useWaterLakes":true,"waterLakeChance":49,"useLavaLakes":true,"lavaLakeChance":80,"useLavaOceans":false,"fixedBiome":-1,"biomeSize":4,"riverSize":5,"dirtSize":33,"dirtCount":10,"dirtMinHeight":0,"dirtMaxHeight":256,"gravelSize":33,"gravelCount":8,"gravelMinHeight":0,"gravelMaxHeight":256,"graniteSize":33,"graniteCount":10,"graniteMinHeight":0,"graniteMaxHeight":80,"dioriteSize":33,"dioriteCount":10,"dioriteMinHeight":0,"dioriteMaxHeight":80,"andesiteSize":33,"andesiteCount":10,"andesiteMinHeight":0,"andesiteMaxHeight":80,"coalSize":17,"coalCount":20,"coalMinHeight":0,"coalMaxHeight":128,"ironSize":9,"ironCount":20,"ironMinHeight":0,"ironMaxHeight":64,"goldSize":9,"goldCount":2,"goldMinHeight":0,"goldMaxHeight":32,"redstoneSize":8,"redstoneCount":8,"redstoneMinHeight":0,"redstoneMaxHeight":16,"diamondSize":8,"diamondCount":1,"diamondMinHeight":0,"diamondMaxHeight":16,"lapisSize":7,"lapisCount":1,"lapisCenterHeight":16,"lapisSpread":16}

Vazkii ยท 5 points ยท Posted at 23:43:56 on June 18, 2016 ยท (Permalink)

No problem. It took me a while to find out why it didn't work. I just added it into my mod, Quark as a world type.

Not sure if this is Quark's fault (or the generator itself) but this happened to me today: http://i.imgur.com/mrFHbg3.jpg

Completely ungenerated chunk :P

MCNoodlor ยท 1 points ยท Posted at 10:19:16 on June 11, 2016 ยท (Permalink)

Could you give some more detaill on what parameters you changed in particular? I want to tinker with this for myself a little in the future.

Merci, Noodlor.

I used this page : http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Customized.

And it was most of all a lof of time and try without beeing conclude before finding a good result. (~40 generations for this preset)

What are oceans like?

My one problem with this realistic presets is that oceans often get messed up

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Soniop ยท 19 points ยท Posted at 16:28:36 on June 10, 2016 ยท (Permalink)

Mattstaboy ยท 6 points ยท Posted at 11:48:49 on June 10, 2016 ยท (Permalink)

What's the texture pack that you're using?

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Soniop ยท 4 points ยท Posted at 12:54:00 on June 10, 2016 ยท (Permalink)

A brush more colour

lmpostura ยท 1 points ยท Posted at 21:39:24 on June 10, 2016 ยท (Permalink)

The texture creator has gone inactive... no responses on the post, and no updates for the past few months :( I loved that pack so much, too.

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Soniop ยท 1 points ยท Posted at 21:47:27 on June 10, 2016 ยท (Permalink)

Yep :/ But i love this ressource pack so i use it x)

[deleted] ยท 5 points ยท Posted at 13:16:50 on June 10, 2016 ยท (Permalink)

This might be a stupid question but what mod do you use to get realistic clouds like that?

MidnyteSketch ยท 7 points ยท Posted at 13:37:01 on June 10, 2016 ยท (Permalink)

it's part of the resource pack, that works with optifine to give more realistic skybox backgrounds.

RocketTurtle ยท 3 points ยท Posted at 18:24:03 on June 11, 2016 ยท (Permalink)

A nice side benefit of the smoother terrain is that villages have a better chance to spawn (fewer unsuitable spots to prevent spawning), and when they do spawn, they're generally bigger and cleaner (because they don't stretch into improper terrain). I've tried this preset on a few seeds I know well, and I found villages in places they don't usually appear, and the villages that I recognize have more buildings in them.

A very nice preset!

kopasz7 ยท 2 points ยท Posted at 13:01:29 on June 10, 2016 ยท (Permalink)

Interesting. I'm gonna try this out for sure.

Glad to see some people are making some really nice things out of the world generation settings other than wild looking things

PhD_Phil ยท 1 points ยท Posted at 21:35:54 on June 10, 2016 ยท (Permalink)

What's the overall change that makes it more "realistic?" It seems like it generally gives land more height that is away from water, and also maybe gives non-mountains smoother slopes, does that sound right?

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Soniop ยท 5 points ยท Posted at 21:43:06 on June 10, 2016 ยท (Permalink)

more height difference principality between biome, and relief change a little too.

Unfortunately we can not independently manage each biome and I wanted to keep the ocean and the rivers, so this limits the possibilities

(google translate, sorry)

ressourcepack a brush more colour + optifine :D

JackFlynt ยท 2 points ยท Posted at 08:55:25 on June 12, 2016 ยท (Permalink)

You can actually save posts and comments, which will put them in a separate list which is probably easier to find things in than the list of comments you've posted.

Opinions, mate. EDIT: To all redditors here, Look at what the villager says if you're going to downvote. It's his opinion and should be respected.

[deleted] ยท 16 points ยท Posted at 23:35:00 on June 10, 2016 ยท (Permalink)

It's his opinion, but it doesn't add to the discussion. He doesn't say "I don't like this specific part", he just says it looks bad. And he's not even stating it like an opinion, he outright says that it does look ugly. To me, these are perfect grounds for a downvote.
