It uses a complex algorithm to scan the areas most visited by each player to determine the items they possess. It scans chests, dispensers, hoppers, and every other container to see how many of each item any player has. It then systematically calculates which wish you need the most based on which items you have the least of and determines how likely you are to use a given item received by the well. If you do not have a sheep farm, for insurance, the well could analyze that and produce a special sheep. If the system detects sufficient resources for beacon tower but not enough for a beacon, it may give you a wither skeleton.

IHere's another compacted command thingy that lets you turn cauldrons into wishing wells.
Crouch on a full cauldron with ten levels to create a wishing well. If you break it, it will go away, so leave it in place. Throw gold ingots in it to make a wish.
There are many unique wishes that can randomly occur - some good and some bad. Sometimes you just get normal items (like that name tag), and sometimes you get unique mobs (like a chicken that lays tons of eggs but explodes when not on grass for too long).
You can't refill a wishing well until it is empty. It adds a cool new use to the useless feature that is cauldrons, so I guess that's neat.
Cool creation, but why is the water going away? A wishing grants wishes, but I've never heard of one that dries itself up. Water is infinite anyway, so it's just another annoyance for the player to have to refill it. Getting rid of the mechanic would also greatly simplify the command blocks, I would think.

It drains so that each well only has three uses. You need another ten levels to enchant the well again.
If you summon a temporary Itemframe and use the Itemframe to summon the ArmorStand, the Armorstand will always be in the same position within the block.
It's a simple way of approximating player positions to blocks.
Also a little overboard with the particles, don't you think? :)

Yeah, I've used the item frame thing in some of my other stuff, such as those sponges I made. I just had this old system laying around and felt like showing it.
28 wishes, but only 23 functional? What does that mean?

You can get a couple custom items I was going to give special effects (like a sword that increases time of day when you swing it), but they don't do anything.
